What makes you think Rice would be able to get a decent punch off?

Ray Rice in an octagon with a trained pro is a fish out of water. 99% chance if you put any non trained fighter who's not a giant in an octagon with Ronda Rousey they would throw an ugly punch then get tossed and armbarred in less than 10 seconds

You will not give up, will you?

Let's see, Rice was an elite athlete in a league of elite athletes at a position where speed and quickness is premium. He would close on Rousey before she even mentally registered the fact she was being attacked. He would break her back and there is literally nothing she could do about it.

Rousey would be physically unable to armbar ray rice.

Also, Verlander, you need to get the frick off the internet for awhile.

lol at Rice closing on Rousey. He would be a fish out of water. He doesn't have clue on how to close distance and would telegraph every single movement.

Rice would throw one sloppy punch and get flipped and armbarred in <10 seconds.

That woman was actually pretty impressive. Got a knockdown on a guy who has been kicking banana trees for 10 years.

She took some good shots in the 1st round and he got her with a damned solid left.

But...she was a champ and he was a nobody.

Good video, enjoyed it.

She took a few big shots in the first round that did some damage also.

Dude won due to a speed advantage more than anything. He was beating her to the punch consistently. And of course he hit harder because he is a dude.

Anyway, well put together video.

Yes, he would close on her. And ridiculously easily. And he would probably never throw a punch. Why would he? She can't hit him hard enough for it to even register. He would body slam her and and snap her neck.

Since he's been mentioned already Rampage.

Rampage was never known for being particularly athletic. He was big and strong, but not any more athletic than other athletic fighters.

Rashad Evans was more athletic than Rampage, imo.

Caught her right on the chin with a hook. It was a hard punch. Followed by 2 more. Not sure what everyone else is looking at.

Both are more athletic than Ray Rice

How is he closing on her? Is he going to charge and dive head first lol? Throwing a punch or reaching to grab it makes no difference he doesn't know what he's doing and once that arm is out their and off balance its <10 seconds till you're on your back and its popping

If you put a trained male MMA fighter in the ring with Ronda Rousey he would win. He could be a nobody and he would win. This guy in the OP's video was a nobody from New Zealand who KO'd the greatest female kickboxer who had ever lived. This after going HAM on him and giving him everything she had in the second round. He took it like it was nothing and put her on the mat with one good hit to the jaw.

Well... just to play the devil's advocate, one punch didn't put his wife in a coma...

And this is not an exaggeration, there were MANY on this board that were saying Rousey would kick Mayweather's arse. I mean they actually believed it.

Mayweather could literally kill her if he wanted to. He could absolutely beat her to death in the ring. And he isn't even a viscious fighter, imagine what someone like Pacman in his prime could do to her with his power.

It's an absolute joke people think women can compete with their male peers in athletics. My favorite is basketball, where many INSIST things like a good WNBA team could beat some men's college teams. No they fricking couldn't, a good Texas 6A HS team would take the WNBA champs to the woodshed. They might win by a hundred, the women would have trouble just getting shots off because they give up half a foot at every position.

It's absurd

Exactly, and id be willing to bet that Evans couldnt perform in the gym nowhere near the level that Rice could. If id have to make a conservative guess, is be willing to bet that Rice prlly had a 1300 lb powerlifting total just based off of his body type and the lifting programs they do in college football. Prlly a 350+ bench, prlly a 450+ squat, and a 450+ deadlift. He also ran a 4.5 40 and had the lateral agility to make other world class athletes like NFL linebacksrs and db's miss, and the strength to take on blitzing Linebackers and Ends in pass pro.
Melvin Gillard was a freak athlete and so was Dan Henderson (olympic medal wrestler), and many others. They are all great athletes in their own right when you get to that level. But with all that said, they werent even close to the caliber of athlete that NFL running backs are, much less a pro bowl level like Rice was. Verlander is clueless. Its amazing that we are even having this discussion. Rampage jackson a better athlete than an nfl running back? Seriously?

To be honest, I can see Rice closing in pretty easily.

I just don't see Rousey as the mythical being you make her out to be...

There are plenty of professional athletes that find it difficult to hit Rice... I can't see why Rousey trying to grab his arm would be any more difficult to avoid than a professional football player trying to tackle him.

Mayweather would cripple Rousey in any event which requires the two of them try to knock each other out. Rousey's technical fighting skills are meaningless in this instance, because her opposition is too fast and strong for her to simply tackle and overpower.

Rousey was dominant because she was so much stronger than almost every other woman. Her fights consist of her taking physically inferior women immediately to the ground and overpowering them.

Tell me how he is closing? And whatever this master plan is what makes you think he'll be able to execute in his very first attempt
