It's equally ridiculous to expect a student section to give one shite, much less two, about any children that might be at the games
Which is why the student section will probably be moved up near the PMAC rafters where it can yell anything it wants without embarassing LSU. As evidenced by the actions of LSU's band and athletic deparment regarding similar vulgar chants at football games, LSU does not want people yelling organized, vulgar chants at its athletic events. Again, so you understand, the key word there was "organized". The university you claim to support excoriates such behavior, and has made it clear it does not want the student section to do this.

It'd be like taking your kid to Bourbon St and being surprised when they hear and see inappropriate things. If you can't handle explaining to your kids that they may hear and see things they shouldn't emulate, maybe you should just leave the kids home.
FYI LSU doesn't want people to feel as though they need to leave their kids at home when they go to the game. There is no universe in existence where walking down Bourbon Street is the equivalent of attending an LSU basketball game. If you are unable to distinguish the difference then, based on LSU's prior actions, it doesn't want you to attend.

But he's not wrong about how stupid it was. I'm more embarrassed that it's the most clever chant our students can come up with.

Still better than "Get the ball back!" or that "I believe that we will win" soccer crap pre game.

I haven't read past the first page of this thread, but with it being 13 pages, I'm gonna assume that multiple posters are defending the chant.

These are probably the same people that defend the trashing of campus on game days

I will never understand the mentality of people who believe it's acceptable to curse loudly and act like an a-hole at a public venue with children present.

Someone should tell them never to tug on superman's cape. That chant definitely provoked the whole OU team and stuck it straight up our arse. Karma is a bitch. How bout we act like we have been here before although its been a while. No class. It was embarrassing. Then we lose and show more class by throwing things at the other team. I heard Buddy told the team in the huddle "I got this" after the chant. One school gives him a standing ovation after triple overtime loss and we throw water bottle at him.

Remember these are dumb **** college students that 99% of don't have children. When you were a teenager did you always understand why adults made a bid deal about things. In their minds this is just adults being fuddy duddy, boring, lame, .............adults. They will understand soon enough and think...."oh, I get it...thats why I shouldn't say **** in front of a million people. I want my children to be able to experience LSU sports too not just my selfish self, and I don't want the call from elementary school wondering why my child said **** in front of the class".

Congrats to the hundreds of LSU students that made it to their first basketball game this year. Congrats to the hundreds more that made it to their second basketball game after seeing us play Kentucky.

I'm not on one side or the other but for as long as this site has been around, people bitch about the students. Only problem is those students change every year.

I just like pointing out a bunch of you are hypocrites. And y'all act like only current students curse at athletic events. Yet this has been going on forever. And I highly doubt all of you have sat at a sporting event and never once let a curse word come out of your mouth.

Again, it's a bunch of losers bitching about the same shite they did while at LSU that has given LSU the reputation it has. LSU didn't become a rowdy fanbase because of 1 basketball game in 2016. It has been generations of fans doing stuff like this.

The people talking about family and young children. What are you doing to ensure they don't act that way when they get to college? Most of these kids have gone tailgating with family and friends and start at a young age, they see people drinking, they may hear some bad words. Then they grow up, and do the same shite their parents do/did.

When you are sitting in tiger stadium with your son and grown men start booing the players, do you point out how classless that is too? To boo an amateur athlete of a team you root for. Do you use that as a teaching tool on how not to act like a moron? Or do you just join in?

Maybe LSU should just ban all the fans.

You don't know me personally, but I don't curse. Not even in college. I never cheer the last part of the first down cheer.

I don't anymore. I used to every time though. My gf does and gets mad when I tell her to tone it down. She just bitches that she's been doing that with her dad since she was young. So there in lies my point again. This isn't something that started in the past few years.

I'm not sticking up for the students, but I'm not crucifying them either. There a trashy people in our fanbase, doesn't matter the age or what years you attended the university.
