The only reservation I'm making for her is a one way ticket to pound town.

All the ones bashing on going out on Valentine's Day are all the people who either forgot to make plans or don't have anyone to make plans with

My wife and I have been doing ribeyes or filets for Valentine's Day for the last 5 or so years.

I forgot to make plans for myself because I'm alone. You nailed it.

or we've been married long enough to realize its an overrated event (same as NYE) and prefer to celebrate differently. I'll cook a meal for my wife and give her a backrub while she watches whatever it is she likes on TV. That usually leads to sexy time, so its all good. Have fun waiting an hour for your meal. Oh and don't forget to get your girl roses. Wouldn't want to frick up that dinner date by not getting her flowers on VDay

Valentines Day is a bucket of bullshite that we should ween out of relevancy. I realized years ago how silly we look participating in this multibillion dollar holiday. But thats after live in Japan for a few years and seeing their woman adore the men on Vday! Then there are a few other nations who celebrate it completely different.

Been married myself for 9 years. I can cook circles around most people. And I would agree with you most years, but not when it falls on a Sunday night. Most people will celebrate Friday and Saturday. So I will be cooking like I usually do Saturday night and we will enjoy a nice dinner out Sunday night
Hope your night leads to "sexy time"
From the sound of it seems like you need to use the day as an excuse for her to give you some
Good luck!

If you are married and eat out on Valentine's Day, you are an amateur. You can be more romantic at home and not subject yourself to the packed house, limited menu, just get the night over with experience that you will get at every restaurant.

Even good husbands who can't cook can boil some water and cook a fricking lobster for frick's sake.
