Eh. Rhodes Scholar and governor. May be looked on as a failure, but he managed a high level.

Would someone who down voted my post care to explain your beef with it?
Do you think Miles and co. have done a good job developing qb recruits out of high school?
Do you think recruiting dual threat quarterbacks from spread offenses and having them run Bo Schembechler's offense is beneficial to any of the parties involved?
Do you think the offense in its current format utilizes the skill set of guys like Lindsey Scott or Lowell Narcisse?
I think Scott is immensely talented and could be a weapon in the right system. Based on Les Miles 10 years, I'm not sure he'd excel in LSU's.

You are categorically fricking wrong. A Harvard degree is on a separate level than anything LSU could provide save for Petro Engineering (good luck with that now). And, you may be shocked to realize that after spending QT in Boston, he may decide that SoLa is not necessarily the best place to raise a family. I get the family love but there's a giant wonderful world out there.
So in other words, if you take my original statement that LSU is a better choice than Harvard for a guy who wants to play professional football and live in Louisiana after football, and ignore the entire premise, then it is no longer accurate.
Well no shite.

We know he is a very smart young man. What is he interested in studying? If it is the sciences or engineering, then whatever he studies in undergrad is going to be fine at most any major university.
Rhodes Scholar - study graduate degree at Oxford. Much better than Ivy League undergrad.

last thing we need is a smart QB

3,000 yards passing and almost 2,000 rushing yards!!! Damn this kid was balling! Hope the young man becomes a Tiger

Harvard is going to give this kid a scholarship, or are his parents loaded?
Posted on 1/19/16 at 8:42 pm to Vacherie Saint
Yeah I didn't think they did athletic scholarships in the Ivy League, though I could easily be wrong on that

Eric Crouch was 6 ft and won a heisman
I think their offense was slightly different from what LSU runs
Dude was essentially a RB playing QB

I agree with you.
With that said, enough has been said about it and it's going to be an 8 month broken record. What's done is done. I don't understand the continual need to rehash the issues. (Not just you. I'm not singling you out. Thays a blanket statement. 247 is in absolute meltdown for offering this kid.)
The only thing we can do is hope the higher ups gave Miles an ultimatum as far as the offense goes. It may just be my naive nature, but I think things will change because Miles knew he was being fired, or right on the cusp. He knows he's coaching for his job this year. I do believe that big money, not just the AD, sat him down and told him changes were to be made. Hopefully, in those talks, a bulb went off. I understand not believing that he wouldn't change the offense because of his stubbornness, but hopefully the right people kicked him in the arse hard enough for him to open his eyes.
That's why I'm in another wait and see. Because if he doesn't change his offense, he's good as gone and I firmly believe he knows that this is his last chance.

You're an idiot - stop regurgitating what you've been told. Harvard is as overrated as any other university; even moreso due to their 'prestige'.
Posted on 1/19/16 at 10:20 pm to RoaringTiger33
Harvard may be overrated as you say, but a degree from an Ivy League school, especially a Harvard or Yale or Princeton, carries a heckuva lot more weight than one from LSU.
