QB Recruiting - The Reality

The reality is, that LSU does "NOT" have to sign a QB in this class. I know everyone is rushing to get a new QB this year, but fact of the matter is Brandon Harris is Good enough to manage the game. If Les will turn him loose and Cam Cameron to do their thing, I think Harris will be much improved from last year.
If Les will allow Harris to run the Read Option like Deshaun Watson is getting the opportunity to do, Harris can be every bit as good or better in the LSU system. If LSU spreads the field and allows Harris to Read the play and either hand it to the RB, Run the ball himself or pass it, LSU will be very successful on Offense. With a Defense having to account for 3 WR's 1 TE Receiver or 4 WR's, the RB and the QB, there wont be a Defense that can stop our O. We would average at least 30 pts. per game.
With Aranda at the helm on Defense and all our talent on D, LSU will easily hold opponents to 14 points or probably much less per game. I think this year we will have great success.
Harris will not leave early for the draft and will be back for another great year in 2017-2018 in which we will be training a QB from the 2017 recruiting class.
LSU fans need to stop acting as if we have to sign a QB recruit in 2016. We have QB's, we just need to continue developing them.

Let Harris run and throw and put LF on the bench. No more than 15 touches for Fournette.

People can get hurt. Yes you should sign a QB every year and let them battle it out on practice fields.

I don't understand the melt. Harris for 2 more years and then McMillan will be a RS Soph.
That is 3 years in the system for McMillan. If he isn't ready, then we will probably have a RS Frosh behind him or another transfer.
But the fact is that a RS Soph should absolutely be ready to go after Harris.
I guess everyone is just writing off McMillan.

Something called injuries.

sounds like his college recruitment
we may have been the one school to scout out this gem, but can we really trust this staff on QB evals, let alone "diamond in the rough" evals?

so everyone is writing off McMillan for his lack of major recruitment
but this board goes nuts over Lindsey Scott?
makes sense

McMillan and Jennings and Etling?

You need to sign a QB every class. When you don't you end up in the no depth situation we've been in for the last 7 years.

oh scott is just a "we really mucked this up" scenario and i don't think he even gets an offer

Fact :LSU was never signing Haskins and Narcisse.
Fact: Haskins obviously loves OSU and LSU was never a real option
Fact: Narcisse is a real Louisiana native
Fact: Franks fricked LSU really hard
Fact: Narcisse is the best possible option remaining

OP your just making excuses for our coaches QB development epidemic!! Elite QBS are staying away from LSU like the Plague because we don't have anything resembling a passing game. Every top football program signs at least 1qb every year. LSU needs to go ahead an offer Lindsey Scott and quit screwing around!! We need QB depth for the future.

Or a shite-ton of qb's transfer: Rivers, Rettig, etc.

Just to compare with Bama. At least one every year. 6 in last 4 years
From 2016:
Jalen Hurts, 4*, more than likely will redshirt.
From 2015:
Blake Barnett, 5*, may get the starting job next year.
From 2014:
David Cornwell, 4*, may get the starting job next year, may transfer if he doesn't
Coker-transfer from FSU
From 2013:
Cooper Bateman, 4*, got some time this year, may get job next year.
Parker McLeod, 3*, no idea if he is around.

Honestly, with our skill at fullback - I wish we'd run like a Power Spread look with a little more size on the field. After all, we are a power run team. I think we could variate it to give legit looks and keep LF an active threat in the game. It could really open up for Harris if LF has a lead blocker... we all saw the first half of the season. Even #47 came on late in the season (he was a true freshman)...
JD moore is that good. He needs to be on field for LF.

so if LSU doesn't get a QB this year, how long would it have been that LSU did not sign a QB in a class
including transfers/JUCOs?

From what I've seen from B Harris, it seems like he has a hard time reading a defense.

It sounds like that is exactly what our numbers will be after this class is complete.

So our QBs will be gracious enough to be injured only one at a time?
