What is a good kitchen timer that you use a lot? I have had my share of crap. Want something durable that is not OT Baller on price. TIA.

Rarely use one.
But the microwave timer function works really well.

I use Siri every time. Not joking. Don't even have to touch anything

Yes to both but I do like a separate kitchen timer. My mom still uses one that my grandmother bought in 1959. Maybe I am outdated, but I like some traditional ways.

Well...
The oldest way is just paying attention to what you're doing.

Thanks. I am certain that 3-4 generations of wonderful cooks and world class chefs would be thrilled with the fact that, Well.....they should pay more attention to what they are doing.

So why not ask the "world-class" chefs what they use instead of a message board for sports?
Oh...
And the only time you need a timer is baking and most "world-class" chefs use the oven timer.
Dick.

I appreciate your insight. Contribute more often to the F&D board.

No offense, but I think you're over thinking this one. It's just a timer...

I have bought cheap timers that don't last a year. I was looking for input from the board for something that lasts more than that.

Get one like this:
You want one where you can punch in the time DIRECTLY, not with repeated button presses. You want minimal button presses. I like one that counts up or down (most do). If you need multiple timers buy another one. My second one is this. It hangs around your neck so yo can move around and not miss the alarm.
I have this one, but with multiple timers, it doesn't stay on the active timer, which results in more presses. Very aggravating to me.
You definitely don't want one like this:
I also tried this one that was recommended by America's Test kitchen. I don't recommend it at all. More complicated than it was worth. And more expensive, too.
ETA: I think the Twist Timer linked above by Unobtanium above would be great, too.

Guess what? I just bought the one Unobtanium linked above. $10 with 2 day shipping with Amazon Prime.

I don't think you want a kitchen utensil, I think you want an expensive gadget to make your kitchen look cool.
Who cares if a two dollar timer goes out after a year? Buy a new one.
That's what real restaurants do.

This is not a message board for sports. It's a food and drink message board.
I use the timer on my oven or the microwave or the phone. Used to use timers if I was elsewhere in the house before I got used to using the phone. Still have a few windups.
