Definitely a romance movie

i'll be very sincere and say that this and CA:CW are the only two movies i care about this year.

Ok, can you share why this is brilliant for those of us not in the know?

it's two fold.

Deadpool is a very violent, childish murderer. He's also a comic book character who knows he's in a comic book. It would be like if a 16 year old version of ourselves was a super hero.

The marketing team has done a spectacular job of releasing little trailers and teasers to seem to really nail that persona. then they release a movie poster that makes it look romantic valentines movie, when in fact it will be filled with fart jokes and people dying violently.

I should introduce to my ex. She would have been down to see this movie on VDay. And no, she is not fat.

You are absolutely wrong on this. There is this quite super-hype going on among your various scifi groups that will end up carrying over to folks not all that enamored with scifi (people that went to see Avengers, Iron Man, etc not because they were already fans but because they heard other people talking about how good they were).

Aside from the fun & frolic of Deadpool in general to pull the fanboys in, there is also the Ryan Reynolds factor to pull the women in and I think once they get into the theater they'll be pleasantly surprised (and laughing their asses off).

My Bday is the 15th so the wife knew she would have to see it with me regardless. After seeing the trailers though she is now paying as part of my birthday present

She's up in NYC for training this week, she's so giddy about the movie now that she sent me a pic of a copy of this ad that was on a passing taxi...

There's a reason why this is being released in February.

an R rated comic movie featuring a character many aren't too familiar would have had tough sledding going up against summer blockbusters. This was the smarter move and not because its a terrible movie they're trying to hide.

I'm on a family ski vacation in CO when it comes out. The wife has already informed me we're leaving the kids with the grandparents to go see it on V-Day.

She may be fantasizing about Ryan Reynold's face on me later that night...but frick it, I still win.

I think it will do pretty well. I had no idea how massive the deadpool fanboy crowd was until recently but they are coming out of the woodwork.

Hopefully my old X-Force comics with his first appearances will go up in value.

i will be seeing this with my Aggie friend, that text offhand comic book humor and obscure nerd humor as well as both play Marvel Contest of Champions with, while we leave behind our crying children who love deadpool, but don't understand what R rated means, on a random Tuesday night.

it's a funny thing. i haven't read a comic book since 7th grade when i discovered boobs and sports, but i still love them. Anytime Deadpool, Wolverine, or Cable come up in my life, my prepubescent self pops a mild boner.

Say what??!!

My youngest (4) just asked me to watch Antman with him. I think that's kid friendly enough to let him watch.

my kids watched and loved Antman. i'm not taking them to a movie with a quote like "your face looked like Freddy Krueger facef***ed a topographical map of utah"

while hilarious... not for a 9 and 6 year old.

I saw that banner on ESPN and laughed. I watch all the comic movies as is but I will be getting my tickets for this Friday for the 12th.

This year is going to be epic for comic movies. I can't wait for each one.

I showed my wife the trailer to it about a week and a half ago, and she told me we were going to go watch it in the theaters on Sunday that weekend... which just happens to be Valentine's Day. So, yeah, I guess I win the jackpot?!
