well both guys running your D are great recruiters. The problem is both aren't very good coaches.

I'd rather both of them than just Steele I guess

Doesn't make it a good situation though IMO

This is all the proof of the classic Miles "firings." He has to tell these guys that their time at LSU is up, but he allows them to save as much face as possible and get as good of a job as they can. I can't believe Steele would really leave make a lateral move to Auburn, especially for it to be for a Co-DC position.

he got more money, on a longer contract (his LSU deal was up after 2016), and I'm willing to bet it's all guaranteed even if the Gus Bus gets fired after this year. I don't think this was a Les "firing" per se, but I don't think Les is sorry to see him go.

McGriff played a big part in helping Ole Miss land the nation's No. 4 recruiting class in 2013. He was the lead recruiter on defensive end Robert Nkemdiche, the top prospect in the country. Nkemdiche was shocked when McGriff left for the Saints.

Not sure which is worse AU giving Steele that kind of money or A&M giving similar cash to Mazzone.

I lean A&M because their coach is supposed to be an offensive guru, yet is having to pay top dollar to bring in a bad OC to help him.

No it does not.

At this point, nothing to be done but cross fingers, close eyes and keep lubrication within reach.

Defense was not going to win us anything next year anyway, but man that offense is going to have to be so much better than this year.

I dont think WE are sorry to see him go as LSU fans. It was almost the WORST possible hire he could make. I dont think anyone even knew of a worse candidate.
