Why do you feel the need to try and invent some negative perception as a result of this? Give me your assessment of why this will create "poor optics." Feel free to read my post above and counter those if you want.

See my answer in the thread about if the loss was good or bad.

You'll note there that I said it COULD be an optics issue simply because one might wonder why two straight DCs popped smoke.

Oh. I missed your post above. Will look at it.

Don't confuse my utter hatred for that POS BeeFense with anything more than what it is. I'm happy to look at what you said.

All valid.

The only "look" issue I said was possible is the reality of losing two straight DCs.

And again, I'm actually pretty much glad he's gone. Wasn't a fan of him being hired.

How will this affect recruiting... not at all IMO. No offense Shorty Rob, but O and Frank Wilson are the guys getting the talent. High school recruits aren't concerned with"optics" but rather with opportunity. A chance at the next level. In that instance Steele was average. We can and should do better. Let's see how recruiting plays out under our next DC.

The Chavis departure was shady and allowed for speculation that could be on the negative side. This one is pretty straight forward. I think it will probably be good for all parties involved and won't have any major impact in the short or long term.

You may be right.

But, it isn't some crazy thought to wonder if it will. I mean, recruits have been known to bold based on losing a coach before.

Probably the most important phase of this. Who we get.

Unless, he makes a terrible hire, this is an opportunity that Mileams should relish. Coach Steele was serviceable and a decent recruiter, nothing more.

And, I don't think he was the answer on defense.

I'm just calling out your flagrant hypocrisy. Support your LSU coach you a-hole.

I really love how people like you make shite up and just run with it. You're pathetic.

Reality is, we're on the outside looking in but you can bet the coaching community has much better feelers on the subject.

How the hiring process goes will be informative. I think that everyone can agree on that, right?

It's making shite up now to say that when the Steele hire caught shite from many posters, the Pumpers were in EVERY THREAD in FORCE to debunk their concerns?

Jeebus. Talk about making shite up.

We never know how the hiring process really goes. They could wait 2 weeks to do their due diligence, or give the appearance of vetting, and then promote O as a very planned process. Those two weeks will become the target of speculation where eventually everyone agrees that we missed out on our top guys and had to settle with O.

I think the only thing we can agree on is that the reaction, and over-reaction, will be all over the map.

No, you made up shite that BeeFense "said" that you used to insult him. You're full of shite. I knew you'd be miserable after LSU put up a huge score.

Steele probably didnt think Les Miles & Co will survive next year, so rather than be let go and look for a job, he got one handed to him!

Because when you think coaching stability, you think Gus Malzahn and Auburn

Shadiness on Chavis. It was clearly a money grab by him.

I hope that wasn't his thought process. There is a not small chance that Miles is still here after next year and Malzahn is fired. That irony would hurt.

Well, what I mean is this.

Let's face it. In ANY job search for ANY kind of job, the type of candidates who are really interested is informative about he state of the team, company, or organization.

If we find that the job is in demand, then that would be a very positive sign. Look. I said it. I'm ON RECORD. If Miles gets a really good hire, then it is a good sign that the person hired has CONFIDENCE in Miles.

If Miles is forced to hire another Steele or worse, well, there could be a couple of issues.

1)The potential candidates want to avoid the LSU situation

or

2)Potential candidates like the LSU situation but our admin isn't willing to pay to get them.

Note, "pay to get them" should not mean we have to grossly over pay just to get them. I mean, if you have to pay someone EXTRA to work for you, that's not a great sign either.

So. There can be things learned in ANY hiring process about ANY organization.

Huh? I greatly enjoyed the victory last night. The ONLY thing I said about it that could be taken as negative is that we shouldn't lose our minds given that the team we played did have a pretty awful defense.

THAT was it.
