He's going home. He's getting a raise, a pension, and he's going to work with his brother.
If someone thinks him leaving makes LSU look bad, I question either their motive or their intelligence.

Just looked it up.
Steele's defense gave up the same amount of pts per game (24.2) as the Malveto Disaster in 2008. That's the highest total since 1998.
He will not be missed.

Not only did Gus hire him he hired him at what we were going to pay him.
Auburn offered, LSU matched the offer at a meeting this morning so lest we forget Miles did want to keep him.
So thankfully he's outta here and I understand there's quite the shortlist of available or soon to be available DC's who want to get this money

I didn't like the Steele hire(something you gave ALL OF US shite for when we said it in January).

LSU is #27 in total defense in the NCAA. With the talent level on Defense, Tigers should be ranked a bit higher. I don't think he was a bad coordinator but the loss of Chavis probably was more significant in terms of on the field performance. Most likely a short term affect on recruiting but long term probably not much of a loss.
