So you went to the game, but just are sitting there not cheering?

I'm sure 10 years from now the only players from the 2016 draft with pro bowl colors will be top 5 picks

By this same "logic", do you really think taking for the 9th pick will be that much more beneficial than the 13th pick. Because that's your entire argument.

It gives us more selection but a well-scouted, smart draft will yield solid contributors throughout.

It's not a lock the a top 5 pick will get us a great player. Especially with this upcoming draft.

Meh, I'm cheering because it might be brees last home game in black and gold and he is looking pretty good.

yes or no?

also, as a second question. does winning this game today have any effects on developing this team in any manner?

Nola sports fans have no control of the outcome of this game. The players are alpha male, competitors. They want to win. The coaches are paid to win, not fold up shop for a next year that they may not see.

I'm okay with the saints losing out, but I'm enjoying seeing the young players make plays today.

Why are you posting on TD if you're at the game?

Fwiw, more reps for younger players is always better than less reps.

Sure I want a top ten pick, but my big problem is that Drew Brees should be on the fricking sideline right now while Grayson gets reps. We're up big so hopefully he'll sit soon, but win or lose, it doesn't change the fact that this is a fricking pointless game.

I'll say yes, as a simple answer. I will throw a "but" in there that a team can have a better draft with the 20th selection than a team with the 5th selection.

And yes. Winning this game develops the core of this team. They played hard. Didn't give up. And it's just more meaningful reps for promising young talent.

I'm not even sure why some bother watching if they just want the team to lose. Could do something more productive with the 3 hours.

Well now you're being illogical and irrational. You need to approach everything like a robot. Analyze. Don't react.

If you don't think it does then you don't know much about the game...

Please tell me how this will have any effect on us in the future. Do you think in week 1 of next season, our team is gonna be on the sideline pondering, "Man if only we had played harder against the Jaguars in that pointless game of week 16 last year, we'd have come out with the W today".

A good portion of this roster will most likely not even be back next year, let alone some of the coaching staff. This game does absolutely nothing for us besides letting Brees & co. work on their stats.

Why the frick would a watch a football game and want my favorite team to lose? I would quit watching if I felt that way.
