I heard that as well, but I have no idea.

I am pulling for Isaac as well, but you guys sound like the ESPN hates LSU crowd.

Marjorie may be a bitch, but every one of those final 8 are bitches/assholes in the kitchen to some degree or they would not be in the final 8.

Philip turned out to be right. Jeremy's decision to go all in on the judges table was stupid. It's one thing to be aware of VIPs, but another to disrespect everyone else because of them.

Also love the "don't come home with a douchey LA accent" thing.

And I totally agree that the southern chefs don't get the respect they deserve on these shows. Food doesn't have to be plated with tweezers to be good.

I don't think it's an ESPN hates LSU deal. I can't decide if Isaac is holding back on seasoning thinking it's too much for the judges to cook things his way or if he just underseasoned his food. I haven't eaten at his restaurant. Just seems odd that a chef with his background would continuously be called out for lack of seasoning.

I'm talking about the (understandable) homerism.
No one else is defended here like him.

Just got to watch. Isaac was great. Loved his personality. I hope this is a turnaround for him.

Wasn't Phillip the one who held up lunch service while they served the judges? He didn't seem to get why he was going home. It was time.

I love that Isaac finally got a win. He ran the kitchen like a well oiled machine. It was Jeremy's decision to hold up lunch service, Gris Gris. I was very glad to see Phillip go. He really rubbed me the wrong way. I get that you have to have balls of steel and a swagger to run a restaurant but all the name dropping and self promotion got way old. Also, it really did seem like he truly did not understand some basic cooking concepts. Hence the confusion of why he got the boot. That and he was so wrapped up in patting himself on the back that he missed the forest for the trees. That being said, I would not have been sad to see Amar go either. His running of the kitchen was way too passive.

That was a disastrous decision.

That drink at the stand was so bad. I cringed when the guy pulled it out from the shelf underneath

I was so happy for Isaac! I hope Marjorie feels bad for the negative things she said about him, especially after she hears how generous towards her he was in his commentary. He said positive things, even after she was dismissive of him. Go, Isaac!

Instead of the chicken sausage he made awhile back, I wish he'd made boudin, smoked or grilled.

(And why wouldn't we pull for the hometown boy?)

I'm always dubious of how these type of shows are edited. I'm sure they all have negative things to say about one another at some point. That off camera exchange felt like it was designed to create drama even if none really existed. Just a thought.

Geaux Isaac!

That strawberry salad/soup just looked gross. And I about pissed my pants laughing when Colicchio said "I'll bet you anything he's talking about his other restaurants and not this place". He had that dude figured out.

That strawberry salad was one of the worst idea's I've ever seen. And the judges nailed it when they said that he is probably talking about his own restaurants. What a douche.

...Timbo beat me on both points

I couldn't get over that they grabbed some poor young guy who looked like he was on the staff at the venue for restaurant wars and made him slice strawberries. I've never seen that before on Top Chef, someone from the outside getting roped in to do prep work.

True and I wonder if they redo any scenes for the show.

Who cooked the dish they all thought was awful? It was the one that caused them all to make faces. Was it the trout dish? I was hoping they'd expand on that dish when they met with all of them.

That was the highlight of the episode.

Every time Phillip was on screen, I wanted to slap him. That dude needed to 23 skidouche.

That's a nice win for Isaac. "Winner of Top Chef Restaurant Wars" looks good on a resume or advertising for your place.

Putting that on your resume would be a pretty big fgt move. "Contestant on top chef season xx" would be fine.

The vinegary bbq consumie, they didn't even mention that in the critique.

Phillip is awful though, my wife just hates him so if nothing else I'm glad he's out just so she won't yell at the tv about how big of a douche he is

No he didn't. He helped execute Karen's dish how she conceptualized it.
