It was on a show after Top Chef, apparently, but I looked it up on Facebook on his page.

I know most here don't watch Top Chef regularly, but I thought this was the best season in a while. Both in terms of quality and general enjoyment. They avoided the more obscure challenges, and focused on general cooking.
As for the final, I thought Amar had it in the bag. I was shocked when they announced Jeremy had won. When Padma announced it was a difference of taste vs technique, I was surprised they opted for technique.
Give me Amar's food any day.

I took it a bit differently. If Amar's dessert was not done properly it was a technique thing even if it tasted good.
In other words they weren't saying "Amar yours was cooked perfectly, but Jeremy had better technique." He botched some things, technically. If you aren't going to display creative technique, what you present has to be perfect.
I agree with OB, I thought it was a great season.

I agree, he botched the dessert but I've always put a slight discount on dessert. TC has never focused on dessert and it's usually farmed out to one of the teammates. I didn't feel they were even going into dessert as I felt Amar had won 2 or 3 earlier dishes. All in all, 2 great chefs and someone had to lose. Solid season.

I do as well. I like watching Masterchef as well, and I hate it when someone solid is eliminated based on a baking thing, which they have way too much of.
Especially since they have that woman pastry babe on there.

I agree this was a good group of chefs that were talented but had mutual respect for each other for the most part. I had not watched regularly in while but I did this round.
