Just got back. I thought it was awesome. It was a good balance of the old and the new, and Daisy Ridley is going to be a star. Very well done.
Can't wait to see it again.

I really liked that they set the tone early on with Ren being Han and Leia's son. There was no need to drag it out. I think my favorite scene so far, is when the lightsaber flies into Rey's hand. The music and the moment got me.

I really liked it. Only wishes were more captain phasma. And tell me why the republic is backing the resistance. Also very similar to a new hope. I was hoping it would be a little different from it

I can see how people thought it was too similar.
But I loved it. Characters were amazing. Exactly what the prequels were missing. Liked the humor here and there.
And Ridley. Can't be more excited that this is her story.

It was almost a remake. Is that why?
It's a starting point. Enough important plot elements are different that part two will be much more original. It's in the hands of someone meant to do exactly that.

Nope. I didn't have a problem with that. I had a problem with the script solving their problems for them.

I knew going into today "that guy" would show up in these threads and pick this movie apart. It's a movie for the fans made by fans and the consensus is its great fun. That's all Star Wars movies are meant to be. They're not trying to be Citizen Kane for Christ's sake.

Enjoyed it, but damn they just remade a new hope with a girl and a black guy. I noticed tons of similarities and then it made the rest of the movie predictable. Harrison ford was awesome...same exact character.

I thought it was amazing.... Had some great call backs... I can't believe who died died..... It was expected but also shocking.... I hate that Kylo ren frick now

Lol, don't be a fricking a-hole. I said it's a good movie. I already said I'm excited for the next one. But the script held the movie back. That is an absolutely valid opinion. That ain't nitpicking.
