remove Bama and replace them with Oregon or Oklahoma and you are correct. For every time he uses Bama to make a positive point, he shites on them 15 times. He really doesn't like Alabama as a state, team or school.

Is Cook a big threat to run? If not, then I see our DL getting a lot of pressure on him. I think we lead the nation in sacks as well as batted balls at the line.

Granted, that's what people really want to see.
No one is going to be too jazzed about a playoff consisting of:
1. Stanford
2. Iowa
3. North Carolina
4. Oklahoma State

Not at all, but he's a big guy at 6'4 so he may be able to get the ball over the Alabama DL.

Then I see him getting pressured a lot. Mississippi State was one of the few teams we played that did a lot of drop back passing. We sacked Dak 9 times and only rushed 4 players.

I mostly agree with C.C. on this one. Next year Iowa does not have to play tOSU or Michigan State, and they get Michigan, Nebraska, Northwestern, and Wisconsin, (Even Iowa State) at home. Their toughest road game is likely at Penn State. The schedule actually sets up well for them again if they can keep winning.

Iowa has no hand in picking their conference schedule. None.
Iowa is essentially mandated to play Iowa State. Many fans would be fine dropping the game to get other Power Fives, but then people would bitch about Iowabeing afraid to play little bro -- it is ISUs biggest fundraiser. Many seem to forget this a Big 12 school when lambasting Iowa's schedule.
That said, Iowa played more power five teams than any SEC school this season.

The Oregon team they barely beat at home was legit one of the worst 30 teams in the country at the time. I mean, they fricking SUCKED. Why does everybody ignore that?
holy crap, just when i think I've it all from Bama fans we get gems like this
First of all the idea that Oregon was one of the worst 30 teams is beyond stupid, typical exaggeration. Oregon was not playing well relative to their own standards but were not below all the P5 teams plus another 30 non p5 teams
2)Even if Oregon was not up to their usual standards, that is not MSU's fault. They played in the NCG LAST YEAR. When the series was scheduled, Oregon was one of the elite programs in CFB (look at their record from 2010-2014). Big ups to MSU for having the balls to schedule that series, unlike say Alabama
3) Nick Saban said publicly when he was at LSU, and I'm paraphrasing, that the ideal was to schedule big name teams that were down, so it sounds like a good team, but is one you should beat easily, you know, like Michigan in 2012 or West Virgina or Wisconsin maybe. He did steal that idea from Skip Bertman, but it is awfully hypocritical of Bama fans to be criticize MSU who for an OOC game vs one of the top 3 programs from the last half decade just because they weren't as good as the previous years.

MSU has a better o-line than MSU of the south, and is better coached. I think they'll be able to handle 4 rushers.

quote:Get the frick out with this shite. They started the season 3-3 and were giving up 40 points per game. Who the frick cares when the game is scheduled? Nobody is taking about scheduling games. I was addressing people giving this MSU team too much credit for beating this Oregon team at the time they beat them. You'd call me out if I said Alabama beat an undefeated #2 ranked LSU team. Same applies for the Oregon team that MSU beat, but reverse. The rest of your post is idiotic nonsense that has nothing to do with what anybody here is talking about.

hard to disagree with any of that

Kansas has a KState problem, and a football disease.
Iowa State would only be considered practical if a move sixteen were necessary and other options did not exist. I could see them breaking geography before inviting a school with no media allure and no fans.
Really depends on what kind of deal they can broker here with the new TV rights. they get paid as much as anyone from old deals, whereas everyone else is working from more recent contracts.

I think Kansas being a basketball blue blood would be enough to get them. Lets be honest, we are talking about millions here. Kansas ditching K-State and letting them go to the AAC would be beneficial to both. I can understand the B1G wanting to go for Virginia, UNC and Ga. Tech first though.

Kansas would get in for its basketball pedigree. Iowa State brings nothing to the conference. Basketball is decent but not a national power, historically up and down.
ISU football is one of the worst programs in the country. Haven't won a conference title in 100 years, and Iowa is mandated to play those fools. Every year that game is the ISU Super Bowl they then proceed to tank the rest of the season. Iowa needs to drop ISU in the worst way but we're forced to let lil bro tage along.
