Students at UH stormed the field after the win yesterday. The University President is outraged. They hired some contract security workers.

That punch is crazy

I thought people would have learned by now, it's a no-win situation trying to stop people from rushing the field.

I love the look of the kid who got body slammed as he quickly gets away from the security guard.

it's they really didn't care if they made it to the field after kicking their arse, they were just looking to destroy people.

True story.
I was in student section trying to get on the field year we beat tenn 2000-2001 or so.... Saw this pos ebr cop punch this girl trying to get over fence.
My buddy found a half full large cup siting beside me and threw it from about 10-12 rows up and smacked the pig right in chest.
Dude was furious.

At that point other people started throwing shite and they said F it and gave up.

The rules are that you can not run onto the field.

Why do people wanna start crying when there is a consequence to breaking a rule?

My question is why the University is paying for security if they're just going to be outraged when they do their job.

Obviously punches shouldn't be thrown. But the tackle/slam seems like it would be pretty standard for a fan trying to run on the field - and the UH person quickly runs over and pushes the security guy away for doing what he was paid to do.

Nthey should tear gassed everyone on the field. They created a very dangerous issue by storming it.

I agree with getting tackled for running onto the field is sort of the norm.

I'm all for order and standards.

We all learn from 3 things. Pleasure, pain, and repetition.

I would say that the fan won't run onto the field again due to getting checked. If not, then obviously he needs a repetition of pain to learn the consequence

I worked sideline security at the 2012 National Championship. It was a terrible night for obvious reasons, but that's a different story. We were told explicitly that our job was to stop people from running on to the field by any means necessary.

Situational awareness.

Sure, if some drunk a-hole tries to run on the field mid game, then security should tackle the guy so that the entertainment can continue. But there were already over 1000 people on the field with loads more rushing. Being on the field with the team was the entertainment at that point. Getting some cheap shots in on an unexpecting fan wanting to be a part of that entertainment is thug level shite. Preventing one random student from joining with a thousand others is not at all what he was paid to do.

Why hire security if the university president is going to act like a pussy and be politically correct at the first site of CSC doing their job?

That's not what he did though. He socked the kid and then let the kid run onto the field anyway.

I remember the student section wanting to rush the field in 2010 after we beat #1 Bama but there was a row of yellow security guys shoulder to shoulder across the whole student section and behind them was a line of cops. Obviously they couldn't have stopped 10,000 students if the rushing started, but there wasn't a single student that was willing to hit that wall first and so no one rushed.
