I just don't believe that 4 dogs jumped up and grabbed the child out of her arms. Sure it could have happened. I just have a hard time believing that.
Did you not watch the videos of the ones in the park or the ones tearing the grown man to shreds in the street?

I'd die with my 4 year old tucked into my belly with me bear hugging him before he's mauled by any animal on this planet.
Brah a grizzly would separate you from your child with on slap cross your weak arse back.

That is relevant to an extent, but I doubt either stands a good chance against an adult pit. Maybe the sheperd?
the sheperds are mean mofos. and a hell of a lot bigger than our pit or any pit we've ever had. pit = about knee height and 30 pounds. shepherd = waist height and heavier.
the lab doesn't mess with anyone, but rips the rope right out of my hands on the regular. maybe because its bigger, but its just stronger?

It is pretty well known pits bit and hold (like a vice) compared to how most dogs will just bite and release.
I saw a vet say if a pit bull bites you insert a finger in its arse to make him let go...I hope I never have to try it b/c then I will get charged with beastiality

maybe ours didn't get the memo. dads lab bites and shakes his head like hes trying to rip whatever hes biting into pieces.
ours was originally for catching pigs, but was too lazy to do anything useful.

Here's my question..I have no doubt that pitbulls can be a loving dog.....but why can't you get love from a breed of dog that isn't as powerful if it does get violent? Is the love from a pit bull more satisfying than what a lab gives?or are SOME people more interested in the "I'll do what I want" mentality.

You post these types of stories all the time. Do you get a hard on or something from this type of news?
The Answer: YES

1. Insufferable Hipster who wants to show his/her progressiveness and sympathy by raising a pitt that was likely rescued from...
2. An ignorant thug who gets the dog precisely because of its deserved image as a violent, aggressive animal.
These two groups don't want affection from a pet. The image the dog provides to each respectively is the motivating factor.

Spot on. Dogs are a reflection of their owners. The people that want a pit bull are generally trash and mistreat their dogs.

I'm fine with people owning these types of dogs.
Owners or lovers of these dogs always blame blame the person for being a bad owner if the dog does something bad
So manslaughter laws should be put in place now for anyone with a pet that kills someone. Also it should carry a minimum sentence of 10 years because most people wouldn't have a criminal record and could get out early. There should be no getting out early because you knew the risks

Men who insist on owning pits are compensating.
I see a guy with a Pit, he might as well wear a sign saying "I'm ashamed of my little wee-wee."

A pack of pit bulls in Detroit is not exactly a fricking representative sample

Detroit must be a friggin wasteland if they have packs of wild dogs roaming the streets and killing

Yes. Encountered a pit puppy (but close to full grown) over the thanksgiving break. Owner is total scum type: heroin addiction, lost kids, etc. I nearly packed up my kids and left once I realized that was the breed of dog (never seen one in person). I thought, what a great way to show you've turned your life around and deserve visitation with your kids- adopt a pit bull!
