Finally time for me to break off from the old man and get a bike of my own. I'm pretty partial to Honda. We had a Rubicon that was great until it got stolen off our property.

Been on Craigslist and Louisiana Sportsman looking at used bikes.
Had decent luck on finding prospective 05-08 pre-owned bikes around $3500, but just found an ATV store selling 2016 Fourtrax Foreman's for $5625. Would I just be better off with getting one brand new (MSRP $7099)

If you're going to keep it a long time just get a new Honda and take care of it.

I've always had Ranchers, and never wanted anything bigger unless I had 3+ dudes on it or was pulling a heavier trailer. I have found that any bigger than 26" tires doesn't work well with them

I have a 2000 Foreman and a 2014 Foreman

Get the Foreman and don't look back...and if you plan to own it for a while, Honda is the best way to go - get it new and take care of it - it will last 20 years

Friendly does invoice price on Hondas.

For me, the 700cc yamaha is the choice if you just want to change oil and never have to do anything. Great power, extremely reliable.

If you don't mind greasing and special fluids, a Polaris withh a 500 fuji motor or an 800 liberty motor, is a great bike. I'm not overly fond of their newer designs.

The honda is a good choice, it will run forever. But the bearings and seals are a problem they haven't addressed since 1989.

If it's a hunting bike, get the honda.
If it's a trail and hunting bike, get the yamaha.
If youre gonna do both of those and work the shite out of it pulling way above it's rating, get the polaris.

Honda. Ranchers are, IMHO, the perfect sized bike.

My brother just bought a 2016 Yamaha Kodiak.

Thing is a beast. Power and speed to spare.

Got a 2012 Rancher 420 4x4 foot shift. Hadn't had a problem yet and I run the shite out of it. I wouldn't steer you anywhere but towards a Honda.

It'll last longer...we have a 1986 200 on our farm that still runs. Doesn't even have a functioning battery. Just pull it out and kick start it up.

They are just bullet proof little machines.

27 inch mudzillas. If you like your yard nice and pretty, I'd advise you to keep off the grass. They eat damn good though.

It usually gets like this towards the end of the season when the swamps start flooding. Looks like we'll break out the mud boats this year.
