You have to admit that it's ALWAYS trashy people at the gas stations double fisted at the counter buying them.

You also have to note that some gas stations may not have a lot of snacks, etc that they sell....but will still have like 50 different types of energy drinks to choose from.

How many people that drink those daily also...

smoke
eat horrible diets
are overweight
don't exercise much

I know some that are opposite. They are healthy frickers otherwise. Often nurses or younger professionals who workout 5 days a week, join running clubs, play beach volleyball league.

I try an tell some of these friends that a 20 mg adderall a day would work better and is far healthier than the shite they put in them drinks. Unless they are actually add of course.

Only thing in redbull that I've noticed is the taurine. Not sure of its effects, but no one ever complains about it. It's always the caffine, but as others have said, it's the same as coffee.

Plus I thin advocare spark drink has taurine as well and that's supposed to be a "healthy" energy drink. I think people drinking it like water is a problem and that happens more than coffee. But and 8 Oz energy drink and an 8 Oz coffee are pretty much equal as far as I know.

Meh. Still way safer than cigarettes and/or cocaine.

I agree. I don't think one energy drink is gonna harm you. But if you are drinking several a day, everyday....yeah that could be an issue.

Also....who is to say that the person that had issues with energy drinks didn't already have some underlying heart problem that had never been diagnosed before?

Pipeline contractors will fire you on the spot if they catch you drinking one on the clock. My old steel foundry had a rule against them as well.

My question is how the hell has the energy drink market not reached saturation yet? I see a new frickin energy drink brand on the shelves every time I go into a gas station.

Because I use them as a tool - if I'm going to be on a long drive and I know the sleepiness factor is going to be an issue - I sip on an energy drink. The fact I only do that 3 or 4 times a year (at most) makes them far more effective (and I drink a shite ton of coffee on a regular basis).

I have switched from the Red Bull/Monster/Amp style of drink to 5-hour energy. I can't say "no" crash, but it is far more effective for me to get through a long stretch of road with only a minimal crash at the end.

The German chicks I work with inhale energy drinks. They eat like birds, and smoke like chimneys.

My husband and I also use 5 hour energy shots for long road trips. Only time we use them and never had any bad effects with them. I do drink about 2-3 cups of coffee a day. One plus to using 5 hour energy vs a cup of coffee while on long road trips....they don't make you have to pee as frequently as coffee does.
