Looking to change energy providers and I'm getting a feeling the power to choose sites seem shady. What's your experience finding a plan with these sites and what's your current rate?

Do they each have their own wires? I've never heard of such greatness.

We recently switched to Discount Energy/Power. Rate is based on kilowatts used. Last month's bill was $58.00....home is all electric, a tad over 2000 square feet. Son uses them and recommended

We've never had a problem with picking a provider from the power to choose site. Just do your research on the specific plans you're interested in using. We had Tri Eagle for years, but switched to StarTex during the summer. So far, so good.

Power to choose is a perfectly legit site. Some of the high rate legacy providers will not shed tears when it goes away.
Anyway I use champion and locked in a nice low rate for 3 years.

I change most every year as my current provider will always Jack up the rate. I use powertochoose.org to compare. It's a legit site. I currently pay 7.5 cents per kW with Green Mountain.....all wind power.

Use power to choose and pick the best contract that's not with a provider with poor ratings. I had Spark for a few years and liked them a lot, but then one year when I went to renew, they were a lot higher than others. Switched to Reliant and have had no problems with them either.

I'd probably go with the cheapest
I used Reliant the entire time. The rates were competitive and no complaints with service or customer service

You're not changing electric providers. You're changing who you pay and under what cockamamie terms.
Once you average everything out, people pay more for electricity in Texas than they do in Louisiana, Arkansas, and Oklahoma.
