Harris was not ready to start last year. They handled him correctly. A total implosion could ruined his psyche like it did Jarrett Lee.

If LSU wins this weekend with a successful passing game and goes on to playoffs credit part of the wins personally to the many loyal 4-5* WRs of La. (who signed at a time of poor OB recruits) because they were true purple and gold players from childhood and not because they knew they would be catching loads of passes which they could have done on many other top ten teams.

Saban did turn over a good situation to Miles, but Miles only had 15 signees in that first class. Miles started Oklahoma State on the way to respectability. Miles may well have turned LSU into a power, and Dinardo did leave some good players for Saban to work with (Josh Reed, Rohan Davey, Bradie James, Trev Faulk, Domanick Davis, Lebrandon Toefield, etc>) Credit both Saban and Miles. I think things turned around when Dinardo got Kevin Faulk to come to LSU.

Chaseff - you are correct IMHO. The successful recruitment of Kevin Faulk was the first light out of the dark dungeon for our program. Too bad for Dinardo that he was too stubborn, did not listen to advice and enabled his loyalty to sink him. He was his own worst enemy.

I love coach Miles, and I can't to see Allie LaForce interview him after we win this game. He might not show much emotion, but he'll be happy as heck. Moreover, I'll be just as happy for him and the team.

Your numbers prove that Gerry Dinardo isn't as good of a coach as Saban.
Furthermore, the Les file shows that at LSU there isn't any huge difference between the two. With ALL that talent on the '04 team (your words), Saban lost 4 games, LES took that team and improved it.
That's the bottom line, and the only true comparison to be made

Miles took over Oklahoma State and turned it around. They flourished after he left, but Miles built the foundation.

And you didn't mention those specific qualifiers in your other post, but TCU also has a better record. Alabama and Ohio St. also have better records, but they've both had wins vacated.
