I know how this sounds, but after hearing what Les Mile's said about LF's comments on his Syracuse touchdown that was called back I feel compelled to start a thread about it. We are truly witnessing greatness. I encourage everyone to see this young man play at least once before he begins his career in the NFL in '16 (just kidding). Let's take a look back at Mr. Fournette.

Was in the heart of the worst natural disater our state has ever faced.

Chose to spurn the evil empire to stay home, when almost all the big fish were going to Bama.

The most humble superstar that College Football has seen this generation. Giving all of his credit to his Oline and Fullback while others were running around doing money signs and stealing crab legs.

LF embodies everything that is great about LSU and College Football.

If by chance you see this Leonard- Thank you. Truly, thank you for being everything that LSU needed at the perfect time.

ETA: Miles was on College football live and was asked about LF's character. Miles responded (I'm paraphrasing)

He asked Leonard how he felt about his Touchdown being called back on the penalty (87 yarded vs SU) and Leonard responded, that wasn't my touchdown. That was LSU's touchdown.

Maybe so, but I believe his chances of a national title at Bama were clearly better than at LSU.

I think he meant the biggest fish. We still got some pretty big fish along the way. Also that line about it being LSUs touchdown gave me chills.

Cam Robinson
Hootie Jones
Tony Brown

Not to mention Speedy and Willis going out of state. At the UA game LF said everyone was going to Alabama but he was going to stay home and represent the boot.

I am counting the hours til 1230 local time here in the desert to watch (along with my 7yo son) LF7 run....it truly is a joy and an adrenaline shot to bear witness to his greatness and dominance so far.

Posted this in another thread:

It's rare enough to see a RB of Leonard Fournette's on-field talent and ability.

What truly makes him special is his character. The guy is straight class and humility.

It may sound cheesy, but I hope if I have a son one day, that he conducts himself like LF.

I really hope that he has the chance during or after his career to visit high school and little league teams to speak to them and teach them that class, sportsmanship, and dominating on the field are not mutually exclusive things.

they are in a hole this year already, didn't win it last year, and next year we will be even saltier.

I cant imagine why this is the sentiment, other than a permanent state of insecurity.

You're completely missing the point. We were actively recruiting all of those guys who were all 5* prospects (except hootie who was a high 4). Though it clearly worked out in our favor, we had many top tier LA prospects jumping ship and LF stayed home.

You are exactly on point. Guess I could be sorry for those who don't get it but I'll choose -as you suggest- to recognize what we LSU fans have and be grateful.

Go LF and !!

I will say this... The transformation from last year to this year for Leonard is remarkable. Kudos to the entire coaching staff for helping this guy reach this potential!!

Idol worship? The man from all appearances has his head on straight, a sad exception to most who feel they know everything...
