They just opened a TopGolf here in Denver, and I've been looking at going with some friends. As far as I can tell, they charge hourly bay rentals and that is it. 25/hr; 35/hr; 45/hr depending on the time of day. With each bay allowing 6 players, this seems like a steal of a deal for a night out with friends for a few hours. As far as I can tell, there are no additional per game or per ball fees. For those who have been, is this accurate pricing? I assume they make a large sum of their money from food/drink sales.

TopGolf is a lot of fun. I went to the one last time I was in Houston. I think there's a one time membership fee of like $5. Worth it, for sure.

It's accurate. Membership card, I believe, is $10.

Their food and drink is where they make money.

Is that the one out by Centennial Airport? Flew in there a few weeks back to see a show at Red Rocks and hang for the weekend. Those Top Golfs are kind of crazy looking.

Oh, I have nothign to add about Top Golf. Just wanted to confirm OT baller status.

No catch, as someone said there is a one time membership fee of $5-10.

No catch. Food and drinks cost a ton, but they have pretty decent food, high quality food for an entertainment type place. Most people who go there spend a lot on drinks and food, and they get a ton of business. You never realize how packed it is, but they have like 40 bays or more in Houston, and most of them are taken, so they're raking in the money

It's fun. It's like turning a driving range into a bowling style of competition. Sit back, have some beer, and tee up.

This. But if you have 6 people playing...an hour of play is not gonna go far among 6 people.

It's like 5 or 10 bucks to get a "membership" card. Each person that plays has to swipe their card to put their name up (similar to bowling). You load your card with money and pay for the bay by the hour. It's not per person, anyone can pay or you can split. I end up drinking a good bit the whole time and that's on a weeknight. I imagine on a Friday or a Saturday, they get people who spend a lot on drinks and food. It's basically like a bar that charges you 40 bucks and hour to hang out at.

it's legit, sir. kind of like bowling or the movies - they make their bank on concessions.

So jealous. My BFF lives in Denver, and said it's a lot of fun. I want one here!

$5 to sign up for the "card" initially, per person....so not a big deal at all.

The money comes from food/drink sales.

The one in Dallas has like 3 hour wait times usually.

It's pretty awesome.

For a bachelor party we rented 2 bays for about 3 hours and it came with endless beer and food for about $1200 bucks. It was about 12 guys.

I haven't been to a Top Golf in years, but the one in Alexandria, Virginia used to charge by the amount of games you've played. Earlier in the day is cheaper than the evenings and also had a card fee but membership was available for purchase.
