Philip Rivers HOF'er, right?

270 TDs
129 Int
39,408 yards
96.2 passer rating
Never scrolled through his stats but he's on my fantasy team so I checked it out. He's never done anything in the playoffs but has been a regular season monster and is putting together another huge year.
Thoughts?

I wouldn't. Comparable careers but Rivers isn't a puss

Will Rivers spend his entire career playing for the Chargers?
Posted on 11/5/15 at 7:15 am to Dorsey
The knock on him will certainly be the playoff failures.
A few years ago the Chargers led the league in total offense and total defense and failed to make the playoffs. That is inexplicable. I don't remember the year, but I believe it was 2006.

He's 33 and signed a 4-$84 deal in August. A lot worse places to live than San Diego and with his 9 kids I just don't seeing him leaving

Completely different eras though, so I don't think that's fair.
If Eli gets in, he should get in, but lack of playoff success is going to really hurt him badly.

Charges would go 0 - 16 without him.

I think he's in for sure. He will throw for more yards than Marino.

What does Eli have to do with it?

Ah, okay...

Why? Eli has two things that are very important for HOF status that Rivers doesn't have.
If Rivers can somehow at least just make it to a super bowl or have real playoff success my opinion on him would probably change, but for now he's just in the Hall of Very Good to me.

based on what?
Romo has less yards, less TDs
Its not like Dallas has won a bunch of championships either.

Apples and oranges, other than the fact they share the same draft class
HOF voters love them some SB MVPs (especially multiple)
