I've heard of this since I was a kid. But until now I thought it was just urban legend.

Authorities in Pennsylvania and Minnesota are investigating reports of needle-like objects found in Halloween candy while police in Massachusetts say someone left out samples of cough syrup for trick-or-treaters. Police in the Philadelphia suburb of Kennett Square said a "needle-type item" was reported inside wrapped candy bars given to five children Saturday.

Probably a self fulfilling prophecy.

I support the death penalty for people who:
1) frick with a kid's holiday.
2) give the MSM fuel for their fear propaganda

Hasn't every incident of random candy tampering been debunked?

I've never heard of an actual report of anyone ever finding tampered candy before. It was always just people saying they'd heard stories of it supposedly happening from what I've heard.

This is brand-new information!

Well, it kind of is new information I think. You always hear people talk about this. I remember my grandmother checking my candy even in the late 70s. But as far as I know this is the first report of it actually happening.

Cold and flu season is coming up. Plus if you give them the cough syrup it will negate the sugar rush. Helpful neighbor. I'm guessing the kids who received this could read and none took it.

Were the kids dressed as bikers?

i imagine there is about a 55% chance, at a minimum, that whoever reported this story to the news put the needles in the candy

And just like like our lives and our children's (future for me) lives got a little shittier.

I can remember hearing people talk about this when I was a kid in the 80's.

Yep. This was always the big fear when I was a kid back in the early 80s.

Dad's everywhere use the protecting kids from needles story to raid their kids candy stash. A needle has to show up every now and then to keep this tradition alive.

Someone gave my kid an apple. I'd like to report that shite to the authorities.

the kid's parents probably did it to get some media attention.
