We now how Uber pool where you get 25% off your ride for telling them they can pick up others along the way - doesn't matter if they actually do or not

I knew the female driver. We asked if we could request her and she gave my wife a card and says it gives a discount. I need to find it and read it.

So the discount you speak of is in the app, or you just tell them?

Has anyone used Uber for anything like errands?

I know that Uber is pushing to the point that it becomes nearly as cost effective as owning your own car, but it just seems weird to even put a handful of grocery bags in the car.

Just gotta watch out for that surge pricing. Really screwed me one time.

Well there is the whole thing where they show you the surge pricing in 127 pt font and you have to hit ok.

I have used uber in boston, Chicago (two different trips) and new Orleans. The only difficult times were before or after a sporting event. Uber even rates you as a customer/rider - my last trip to Boston our Uber driver showed me my ratings.
Chicago has rules or stipulations that won't allow Uber to pickup passengers from airport. We only use taxis when uber isn't allowed.

Never tried it but lots of times you can drop the pin outside the airport, then text the driver that you're at the airport and they'll come get you

Used it last night to get back to my apartment after party on campus. Just over $10. So convenient. Took 2 minutes for the lady to roll up.

Why don't you point on the doll where he touched you?

So, do you give the driver a 5 every time, even if the car is a bit rancid?

The catch is when you get "trapped" because you depended on Uber to get home, but some concert you weren't even aware of across town kicked in surge pricing and you don't have good options other than to bite down and bear it.

Uber drivers in BR don't like me. Get drunk at bar and take a ride home is about 3 miles. One dude got told to come get me drove 20ish miles.

I'm not using Uber. I refuse to participate in all of these trends. I'm not old but by God, I'm going to act like I am.

I wouldn't. I think their rating is independent of the passenger rating

Atlanta had the same situation. I think they just worked it out.

The only problem now is that taxi cab drivers have figured out how to game the system. In some of the larger cities, cab drivers have now become uber drivers and pick you up. So you get the same shitty cab experience. I experienced this in San Fran and just recently in Seattle.

I personally think uber is starting to go downhill and I've been a rider since they started a few years back as well as a part time driver.

It's all fun and games until an uber driver rapes you or tries to sell you drugs.

Because we all know Taxi cab drivers would never do such a thing.
