Ronnie Feist at FB

was anyone else impressed with him at FB at the end of the game?
It seems like the difference between LF7 getting into the secondary untouched and him having to break tackles at the first and second level was the awesome play of JD Moore. He would destroy the LB or DB on the edge and give LF7 huge holes to run through.
Mouton doesn't give us that, LF7 is constantly running past him or getting hit by the guy he's supposed to block.
Feist on the other hand, seemed to have similar speed and pop to JD. what says the rant?

I noticed several times that LF7 would go back to the huddle and give some STERN looking comments with finger pointing, so I think he will take care of business on our side as well, not to worry, he will fix any issues he sees

I honesty haven't been overly impressed with Mouton. He just seems to get tunnel vision, and only hit a guy directly in front of him.

I would love for them to give Ducre a shot. He is a beast and is hungry to be unleashed.
I realize that the coaches may not deem him ready, but knowing how smart and hard-working he is, I can't imagine him being anything other than ready, and if he turns out as good as expected, He and Fournette would be "fast and bruisy".
I doubt we need him to redshirt, as LSU never is short of running backs.

he also doesnt really move the guy when he does try to block him. he just kinda gets in the way.

Need to just run more out of the shotgun/spread.

Sometimes that's all that is needed. But yeah, a little more actual contact would be welcome. You don't get the same cumulative effect on the linebackers over the course of the game if you're just shielding versus initiating contact.

it also turns a hole the JD would make 3 yads wide into a hole that is 1 yard wide. with 3 yards, LF7 has more room to make a guy miss.

he looked like a chicken with his head cut off to me. My guess is all he really has to go off of is his RB instincts from HS. But he was running, looking for a hole, then going block. That isnt how FB works

Mouton hasn't really impressed thus far. I know he's the backup FB but our running out of the i-formation really took a hit from Moore going down. We should just run out of shotgun mostly

Is Moore supposed to be back for Bama?
Posted on 10/26/15 at 3:21 pm to Ryan3232
Ducre was a beast in high school. The coaches have not yet seen fit to give a shot. Given how freshman are played on this team on a regular basis, I'm sure there is a good reason. Maybe with 2 springs and a regular season under his belt he will have enough "seasoning" to contribute next fall.

A guy on another thread said he'd try to update on Moore tomorrow. Media was reporting out 3-4 weeks after the S Carolina game. I had a similar injury take about 6-7. Hopefully he's tougher & heals quicker than me, 'cause we could use him back there.

We honestly do we Moore back there to take on Ragland when possible.
Dillon Gordon would have been important as well. But hey, we'll be fine.

Moore seals his blocks, Mouton just smashes the guy, Feist seems to be quicker and has a chance to seal like Moore does. it is just expirience imo Mouton has the skill and ability he just needs to learn how to finish his blocks.

especially against Alabama. I would hate to see us just line up in the I and try to overpower Bama's front 7. It's just not going to happen. Best bet would be ditch the I for this game and line up exclusively in shotgun formations and give Fournette room to run.

TE screens will kill Bama.

I hope cam runs fournette sideline to sideline and makes bama chase him in the first quarter.
