Nope. The apology actually came before that. Before they even announced the event Saturday.

Still doesn't explain poor wording in THEIR FB post, you Dimwhit. Nobody can read everything that's been said or posted on this matter, but if they understood good management, they would be apologizing EVERYWHERE they could.

Yep, frick this restaurant

They shite in their bed, now they have to lay in it

This works out really well for the restaurant though, because all the LSU fans will now spend money there to show them just how super LSU fans really are. Ridiculous

Reminds me of the Saudi prince donating to nyc after 9/11. Rudy G. was right in telling the guy to shove his money.

Dimwhit. We can agree to disagree. I saw the apology and I'm good with it. You can disagree and continue to complain all you want.

Every once in a while I hit up a place called "Shuck N Dive" in Ft. Lauderdale. It's a legit Saints/LSU joint.

They will ask anyone wearing rival jerseys, hats, or cheering for the opposing team to leave.

I've personally seen them kick out Gamecock and Detroit Lions fans to the crowd's delight.

So I have a feeling this kind of anti-hospitality in restaurants/bars is more common than people might like to think.

If a guy offers a sincere apology I accept the apology. That's how it works. Especially a small business owner who contributes to his community. Time to smile, exchange pleasantries, shake hands and move on.

Damn. We agree twice in the same year.

Go eat and drink and raise money for LSU and if that's the last dime you spend in that restaurant, then at least it was for a good cause.

Well, 50% of it is a good cause (LSU). The other 50% goes into the owners pocket. Not ready to do that part yet.

In addition, the restaurant is donating $2,000.00. Guess where that money has to come from?

Sure he CAN do this. But it's a stupid and arbitrary way to run a business.

Maybe so but the outrage displayed by our fans is comical. Who really gives a shite? Do you?

I think it would have been worse if they let the LSU fans come in, get drunk, and started fights with Gator fans.

Far worse.

Sorry, St. John, but LSU fans don't get drunk and start trouble unless there's a police report posted to demonstrate that this really happened...

I guess that I am relaxing some on this situation now as the week goes on. I agree what really ratcheted the whole thing up was the second paragraph of the letter. If I am like most, you have friends that cheer for other teams and it is a fun, friendly rivalry. Mostly what's get traded off are bragging rights between friends. But, we all know the a__hole who talks sh_t like that and that's the one I personally have no mercy on. When his team loses, you plan a meeting for 8am on Monday after his team get pummeled and invite him. So the letter reminded me of "that guy" so I don't mind putting it to Harry T's this week. But, it seems like they are trying to do something positive but I personally am going to be cautious with them. They seemed to have a few false starts on this apology until someone over there woke up and said, Oh sh_t, we are taking a shellacking and this could turn out really bad. That's the part that I am not really sold on yet: is the owner apologizing to save his arse or because, what was said was incredibly rude (off the scale) and he is manning up because it was done on his letterhead and on his property.

Time will tell....I won't be in Destin this weekend but looking forward to hearing from others on The Rant how the party went and if the owner is there personally interacting with the Tigers. THAT would say a lot in my mind where he is on all this.

The owner is a nice guy by all accounts. I think I may have fished with him but not sure. Is he friends with Alan Laird of AJ's? His manager/son is an idiot, but u can't fire family.

Lets put this shite behind us.

Too many places to eat there to waste money on this guy and his LSU hating staff. FWIW, I wasn't that impressed the last time I went there.

If the "owner's wife" is from Louisiana and is an "LSU fan" then why would they have hired a GM who would shite on LSU fans in writing in an email response to the alumni association. Harry T's made their bed, now they can sleep in it.
