they wrote a headline and a story in satire claiming that Steve Bartman said that he must be killed for the Cubs championship drought to end...
i think an apology is in order... too many people read the Onion stories thinking they're real

If you don't like it, don't read it.

No, they're a satirical website and they're mocking Cubs fans' absurd notions of superstition and illogical blame on Bartman for their own team's collapse.
If anyone should apologize to Bartman, its Cubs fans.

i see what they're trying to do...
BUT
Steve Bartman is a real person trying to live a life after what happened 12 years ago. We all get the satire, but if the wrong person doesn't...

This is nothing compared to the Abortionplex.

TOPEKA, KS—Planned Parenthood announced Tuesday the grand opening of its long-planned $8 billion Abortionplex, a sprawling abortion facility that will allow the organization to terminate unborn lives with an efficiency never before thought possible.

"I was kind of on the fence in the beginning," she said. "But after a couple of margaritas and a ride down the lazy river they've got circling the place, I got caught up in the vibe. By the time it was over, I almost wished I could've aborted twins and gotten to stay a little longer."

The Onion is the single best news site on the internet, fake or real.
As someone who is in the media I would kill to work there, however, I don't know how the people there come up with half the shite they do. I feel like you have to be a genius to work there.

Actually, in a strange twist, the internet made them much more relevant.

Moises Alou agrees with this.

quote:
I am writing today to inform you all that, in order to end this 106-year-long title drought, you must find me, and you must kill me,” read the statement released by Bartman’s lawyer, which went on to say that as long as he lives and breathes, “so too does the Cubs’ curse go on.” “I must be killed by a dagger, clutched in the hand of a true Cubs fan, plunged directly into my heart, and only then can the Cubs win a World Series title. Be warned: Should I be killed by any other means, the curse will last for another 100 years. I will be here waiting for you.”
Dang.Somebody is gonna kill him.

It was a real newspaper bro. The compilation books are hilarious.
The Onion is an American institution.
