Would be awesome if this were truly an extraterrestrial civilization and it was confirmed in our lifetime.

Well this would be a Type 2 Civilization, which really means only another Type 2 or 3 Civilization could wipe them out. I see no reason why this confirms the Fermi Paradox.

We don't know what they'd look like, but we do know if they have become a space fairing race what they use for energy. Its entire planets and stars. They have the most amount of matter and energy that can be exploited. So we look for stars and planets that seem to be oddly disprortionate in these levels of energy and hopefully find some struture they are using to siphon stars and planets.

Discovering life outside of earth in my lifetime would be sweet

So out of the thousands of trillions of planets in the universe, we're the only place that harbors life?
Yeah, I don't get how people don't believe there's other intelligent life in this universe.

This is interesting shite for sure, but please nobody let Heather find this fricking thread.

That's asinine. How could we even comprehend advanced technology?
Just for the record, I don't think there are alien civilizations out there, and it's not because of the fermdi theory/paradox.
But if there were, how do you know they don't use gravity as an energy source? Antimatter?

If this is an alien civilization, it is Type 2, which would be incredibly exciting. They would be masters of their solar system. Would be awesome if this were truly an extraterrestrial civilization and it was confirmed in our lifetime.
Would be amazing because organized religion would literally die

Yes, but this star is only about 1500 light years distant. That is uncomfortably close to us for a Type II civilization.

Even if they do, where do you think they're going to get energy to create gravity and antimatter from? Stars mostly. If they're after any type of energy, stars are the best objects in the universe to siphon energy of. It's not all solar rays.

There are people starving to death and living in card board boxes yet we're wasting money on this shite.

Exactly. We don't know shite about shite. They could be spacefaring, or sodium-based or infinitesimal or trans-dimensional. We have no idea whatsoever.
