Why didn't they just torch all the walkers in the pit?

There were thousands... gasoline has to be pretty valuable at this point in the zombie apocalypse.

It felt like they were moving around trying to evade alive humans. I could be off, but they looked like they were more worried about remaining unseen rather than unheard. Walkers typically react to the noises rather than seeing something.
Also, it looked like Maggie and Diana were walking through a haze of smoke or gas or something. I guess a walker could've accidentally caused a fire, but I'm thinking it may be some sort of tear gas or smoke bomb or diversion or something.

Season 1 had an athletic walker climb a fence and jump over.
From my above on this page:

And IMO the walkers won't "climb up over other zombies to get over the top." Walkers have no brain function in terms of intelligence or thought, so in theory they should just keep walking into each other forever. Outside of that one zombie in the first season who straight up jumped the fence and ran ( ), that doesn't happen (I assume that original one was sort of a mistake/misstep by the creators).

I think it was somehow Carl's fault.

Distress signal from who? Alexandria didnt have anything set in place for that and no one from the group knew what it was.

Yeah. The previews definitely looked (to me) like the attack was from other humans, not Walkers. Of course we don't know what they left out of the previews.

Anybody else thinking it's about time for one of the main group to die? I'd even take a new wave character dying (Abraham and that crew) or something. All of these new characters showing up and then dying soon after is fine, but I'd like something actually bad to happen to our main crew to mix things up.
I guess back to back episodes of Beth and Tyreese midway through last season is the last big thing we had (and even Tyreese wasn't around for too long; Beth was though).
I'd take a Maggie death, or even Glenn. I know that'll be an unpopular choice, but it feels like we haven't had anybody in the original main group die in a while. I guess the obvious choice is Sasha.

No one would miss her.
I think Carol's time might be about up, or Maggie since they are two of the main group still in the Alexandria compound.

Right. Thus why she's the obvious choice. But I'd like to see someone go that people would miss.
Outside of Rick and Darryl (which would make people riot, including myself), pretty much everyone else is expendable IMO.
I know it won't ever happen, but seeing Carl go would make my weekend. But I think someone like Maggie would tug just enough at people because they care, but she's expendable enough that people would be okay.
I'm not sure Carol is in the running to go, as she's such a strong character now and I bet AMC loves that they have sort of a role model for female viewers in her.
I think it may end up being Tara. Maggie telling her that she's "one of the most important people in the world" to her was laughable, but I feel like it sets up something to be torn down potentially. In that same regard, it's why I think Maggie could be offed soon, especially if it comes out that she is pregnant or something like that (saw someone mention that earlier in the thread).
If I had to guess, I'd say Maggie, Sasha, or Tara, with Tara in a slight lead, then Sasha, then Maggie.

I have a feeling that Tara will be the next one to bite the dust. The actress is pregnant irl, and I'm not sure what more her character can add to the story going forward (also she really doesn't add anything to the group at this point). I could also see Sasha getting whacked.
Out of the "older" group members (I don't really consider Abraham's group or Sasha as "older" members), then I think Glenn will be the next of that group to be killed. He is the longest living "moral compass" character left (which usually is bad for their longevity). Plus, we need a freed up Maggie whoring around for a little while.

I could stand to see Sasha or that a-hole priest die. That sounds racist though.
I would not stand for Abraham dieing. His lines, for me, are the best part of the show. One of my favorites. I would be ok losing Eugene or Tara. From the original crew, I would probably be most ok with losing Judith, followed by Coral or Carol.

No way since she hasnt revealed her secret yet. I know they are going to make a huge deal of that.
Maggie would have to be at the mid season finale due to the feels it will cause.
The most likely are as follows (no particular order): Hot blonde, Sasha, Abe, or Deanna.
Deanna would be a good one which would force the Alexandria crew into making a decision on who to follow and what to do with themselves. Id say hot blonde is most likely.
I think Rick (probably wont ever die), Michonne, Morgan, Glenn, Carl, Carol, and Maggie(for now) are safe.

She is still playing the sweet Susie Homemaker role in Alexandria. No way they kill her off before revealing how similar she is to Rick. If so, what was the point of hiding it? I think she still has a major role to play in snapping these fools into reality and saving a few people in the process.

Oh that. I thought you meant there was something else.

I'd be pretty bummed if Glenn died. Or Rick or Darryl, but I don't see those two going anywhere.

She's going to save the people still at Alexandria because she knows how to use weapons, then end up taking a round in the stomach or something that kills her.

Sasha and Tara can die in the same episode for all I care.
as for Glenn. I'd be upset if he went. If it weren't for Glenn, Rick would be dead.
the top 3 characters IMO. (basically the order of who can kick the most arse)
Rick
Daryl
Glenn

I think she said that because Tara helped bring Glenn back to her after the whole Governor prison thing.
