I just really wish the SEC would call something on this. I think we can all agree that we would love to see the game played. However, the number one priority should be safety for ALL involved (the people of Columbia, the football players and fans). If it can't be played in SC so be it, but there needs to be a contingency plan, which I am shocked there isn't one.

Trust that there are a lot smarter people making decisions than message board posters in Louisiana

The game will not be cancelled. If they have to play it in an empty stadium they will, but it will not be cancelled..

the issue is the outlying areas and if people can even get to the stadium
I think the issue is how many resources will have to be diverted from dealing with major flood damage to dealing with a football game.

I'll see if this is being discussed by the resident geniuses on the OT.

So you are telling me its possible they may not make a decision by thursday? Ridiculous

If you are really hesitating that much about hosting the game then just move it already and focus on relief efforts.

The game being played is more important than who can/can not attend. Even if you move it, its likely those same people wont attend so keep if at WB Stadium and play to a smaller crowd.

A lot of you are assuming just because they aren't making the final decision right now, that they don't already have contingency plans in place. I'm betting they do. And LSU has little to do with it other than obviously offering them the option of playing the game in TS, which I'm sure they have thrown that out there. The Panthers are either off or playing away this weekend, so Charlotte is an option I'm sure has been discussed or is on the table.
The game won't be "cancelled" like McNeese was.

to me that reads that they are talking with other possible venues but won't have everything finalized for 24-36 hours

idk, i think having it at another venue presents a great opportunity to have a game with a lot of people and donating all proceeds from the game to the relief fund for a disaster that has caused about a billion dollars worth of damage

I agree. They also probably want to avoid announcing it yet so the teams and staff can get hotels booked before any fans try to get accommodations in the new location.
