if the LSU Athletic Department doesn't have a contingency plan in the works to have this game at Tiger Stadium on Saturday...Alleva should be fired on the spot!!!!

How much influence does SC have in a decision to move? Can their Athletic Department say we play here (or Charlotte) or we don't play? Do they have veto power if the SEC says BR is the most logical option?

how did it work in 2005 with the Arizona State game? I seem to recall that LSU wasn't given a choice in the matter..or am I having a senior moment?

then again, considering the delusional thinking I see coming out of South Carolina...they won't surrender until Sherman's Army marches through again making them scream...

They going to re-open businesses, roadways, fix 10 broken dams, repair bridges, regain the water treatment, clear away millions of gallons of water, and have the ability to accommodate thousands more people....all in 2-3 days when people start arriving?

I just read that officials are predicting 2 more weeks of flooding in the area. The dams keep failing.

Lol at the rantards. Yeah, the logistics of Columbia's state or emergency is in the hands of LSU's AD.

through delusional "everything is fine" thinking, they are going to get this game cancelled.

this decision should have been made yesterday. this is like watching amateur hour.

Well only in the case of another stadium not being available of course.

The SEC will not let this game be canceled. I imagine it's USC's call to play the game as scheduled on campus, but the SEC and LSU will be involved if the game has to be played elsewhere. Tiger Stadium will likely be the last option, but it's an option.

Why would a contingency plan for a game have anything to do with Columbia's state of emergency? Should we not be preparing at all for the possibility of the game being moved?

The NCAA made the call for us in 2005 according to the internet, although I doubt LSU argued against it. I honestly can't remember since there were bigger things going on at the time.

Any idea how they distribute tickets for a game that has moved venues? General admission? How did they do it in Tempe?

Explain where there is overreaction. Just because the actual field is dry doesn't mean the city is in anyway ready to handle a sporting event.

what I am saying is that LSU should be working on a plan to have the game in Tiger Stadium based on what happened in 2005...don't wait until an announcement is made that the game can't be played in Columbia...

old Army saying...prior planning prevents piss poor performance!!!!

I don't recall either, but I'm sure they have state and local officials, NCAA, SEC and LSU all giving input if it's safe to hold on campus.

To think there isn't a lot of conversations and contingencies being made is silly by some of our fans. No doubt in my mind this game will be played somewhere.

not really. the state of south carolina is officially a disaster zone and in a state of emergency. the roads are failing and there's flooding all over the state including columbia. people are still missing and 90 miles of i-95 is shut down.

it's a mess and people think adding 100K more people into the area is going to make matters better?

it's pretty unreal how no decision has been made yet. I just don't want to see the game get cancelled due to piss poor planning.

I don't see a real issue, can't the fans and teams just take a ferry to the stadium?

No decision doesn't mean there are no negotiations taking place. Moving the venue means 1)securing a place to play and 2) making arrangements for the needed support (concessions, logistics, TV crews, etc). Pretty sure this doesn't happen overnight.

That said, if an announcement isn't made by tomorrow morning, the likelihood of moving the game becomes remote and cancellation/rescheduling becomes more likely.
