LINK

Can't copy and paste for a quote. But basically they are using information gathered on their site to place bets within the rival site. The guy who fessed up to it won $350k the week before.

quote:

Last week, a DraftKings employee admitted to inadvertently releasing data before the start of the third week of N.F.L. games, a move akin to insider trading in the stock market. The employee — a midlevel content manager — won $350,000 at rival site FanDuel that same week

That's interesting. How is daily fantasy governed? Not like there's a NGCB for this stuff

I'm so fricking tired of these beta sites. Gamble your money like a real man instead of playing the "penny slots" version of fantasy bullshite like grandma dropping nickels into the slot machine.

the funny thing is that a large number of sports fans and gamblers would probably use those sites but their marketing has pissed so many people off

how is that info useful though? he played in the other site using data that showed which players were picked up the most? I don't understand how that gives you an advantage since it doesn't affect how the players play. all it is is playing match ups mixed with a lot of luck.

can somebody explain how this is a scandal?

this is nothing like insider trading. this would be like if a guy working in finance at a big firm had access to a great algorithm of the firm and used that to invest on his own, finding great success.

I don't think it's any real scandal but those companies should have a rule against their employees participating. It just seems super shady and stories like this aren't good for business I wouldn't think.

How ironic is it that FanDuel and DraftKings released a joint statement in response to these allegations?

Fantasy football is for booger eaters and dudes who don't get laid. I would bet the majority of losers wear jerseys with #69 or J Daniels on the back. Fantasy football sucks
