Yeah, we are experiencing that 100 year event right now. Over 12" of rain has fallen throughout the state with some areas up to 20". Here are some scenes:

Should have some better images from Columbia as it gets light outside.

Columbia (the worst has happened overnight):

Swift water rescue has been busy. I saw a crazy a video of some guy caught in the water hanging on to a stop sign. I will try to find that one. He managed to get out.

Small dam collapse:

Neighborhood about 5 minutes from USC:

Charleston (I heard they closed the entire peninsula to traffic yesterday):

Reed Timmer (the guy from the tornado chasing show) was down there yesterday. He posted some good videos:

I would not advise going out in that, as those people are doing. Asking for it.

What the hell were these people thinking? Why in God's name would you attempt to drive through that?

I will never understand how people get caught out driving in these conditions, unless it's an unavoidable, dire emergency ..

No one got a picture of the dolphins swimming by the mans storefront?

I am up the coast from you. Bouts of rain, some lite flooding; Charleston got hammered for some reason.

SC hammered again as the cane slips by all the way out to Bermuda.

Don't know how to post pics from phone, but areas in Sumter are pretty bad. Dalzell as well.

My brother just had to get his wife and month old baby out of his place. The water was all the way up to the house and they're anticipating a lot more.

Apparently they set up a jet ski for rescues to his neighborhood

It gets worse (as these things often do).

Friend with an office across from the State Capitol says downtown Columbia faces the lack of running water -- for three to four days.
