The old Orange Crush in the brown bottle - it was pale yellow - not orange and had orange pulp in the drink. Sold in the 50's and has been gone for many years.

The old Nu-Grape

Here

Like brown bottle orange crush, Nu-grape had grape pulp in the drink.

There was a beer joint in Jackson called the Hickory House. They had a steak finger basket (fries, fingers and butter toasted HB bun) that was to die for. It was on West Capitol Street across from Cedar Lawn Cemetery. Had a gravel lot you could pull into and flash your headlights to signal Betty that you were ready to order. They had the best cold beer in Jackson too. Owners got old and sold out and the place soon closed.

Shady Rest Beer Joint, off Boling Street under the overhead bridge where West Capitol turned into Clinton Blvd. Same gravel lot and order system to allow you to stay in your car. Incredible Burger.

Canteen at Air Force Base Basket Ball Gym on Old Air base at Hawkins Field in Jackson. It closed (Maybe fell in) in mid 1950's. I still remember shooting Baskets and eating Bayou Burgers there. Tonight Show Host Johnny Carson was stationed at Hawkins field during WWII and probably used that Gym and Canteen.

Chuck's Dairy Bar in Clinton. Great Shakes, Burgers, Fries, and all your friends were there. Long gone years back.

Different times from today back then.

Oh - one more 10 cent Krystal burgers back in the 50s and early 60s. Just exactly like the ($0.70) Krystals of today. My mom says they were 5 cents a piece during WWII.

What you got?

Whoppers candy with fricked up misshapen ones. Use to be you could find like ten in a box. Now, good luck finding one. What happened? I don't know. Probably some a-hole with a master's degree "improved" the quality control.

Quickkick sports drink. Lemon lime flavor. Much better than Gatorade, poweraid, 10k, etc.

Ocean Spray powdered drink mix (like Crystal Lite). Particularly the Cran-Grape. All of their mixes have been discontinued. I bought two cases on Amazon before they were all gone. I'm almost out and regret not buying everything I could find when I knew it was being discontinued.
