I've casually watched a little of the mighty Eagles play Old Dominion and Army this season. I have some unfortunate in-laws that have attended the school.

If Miles want him to, Leonard Fournette can break Oklahoma's Perine single game rushing record (427 yards). I'm not kidding around either. Dead serious. This is going to be such a grueling, debilitating mismatch.

That said, for the health of Fournette, for the experience of the younger backs, and for just the general pity of Eastern Michigan, do you think it would be wise for Miles to limit him to 10ish carries?

I agree that it would be wise to keep him around 10 touches. Just enough to stay sharp, but he really could use a light night.

Seems like the perfect game to take the bubble wrap off of Guice and Brossette.

If he averages over 25 yards on those 10, then yeah.

He will probably get 13-15 carries.

They will get him to 200 yds and 2 TD's. Then he'll be pulled. Heisman campaign is in full swing baw

I think he'll get 13-15 carries for a buck sixty plus. Let's see what Guice & Brossette can do when the personnel packages aren't so predictable. Get Chark, Johnson & Jackson more snaps on offense. Need Brandon to have about 20-22 attempts...maybe a couple more.

ELIMINATE the stupid penalties...don't think we had any presnap mistakes in the first two games then we had about 4-5 this past weekend and bonehead defensive penalties as well. ST's need work all the way around also.

as i said yesterday, we could put in a walk on QB on saturday, never pass, and only run with guice/brosette and hit 300 yards rushing

it is interesting though, in this context, to see how miles handles fournette's stats in the "big picture" (heisman/media publicity). OP is right in that LF could theoretically break the single-game record saturday, but that may not be good for the overall season, so i doubt miles does.

Seriously people? He is 20 years old. He aint "wearing down" in the next 2 years. Give him whatever touches until the game is out of hand and he still has the stats to stay as the heisman front runner.

I agree with this. I think when he was recruited it was promised to him that everything would be done to give him a shot at the Heisman. That means he has to get the stats. He needs to compile some easy stats for when we play some of the better SEC rush defenses.

We usually run 3 or 4 backs... This year we have run fournette with just a spell back coming in so he can get a quick breather..

We're going all out for that trophy

crazy to think that with another 200 yard 2-3td performance, he will be sitting at 850 ish yards and 10-11 Tds in four games

I'd say let him play the first half, assuming we have a gigantic lead by halftime. Hopefully he will have eclipsed 150 yards or so by then.

That's the thing, that's basically where I'm at too, I just think that magic number of touches is around 10 this week. If that number ends up being closer to 15, no big deal, I just don't think he'll need that many to hold serve in the Heisman race.

If he averaged 12 ypc vs Auburn and 9 ypc vs Syracuse, imagine what he'll do vs. the worst rushing D in FBS. He'll probably end up with around a buck fifty if he gets half his normal workload.

He's remaining the Heisman front runner no matter what IMO, he's not winning or losing the award based on how he looks vs. EMU.

Am I the only one who thinks watching fournette play is almost beautiful like? Like when a musician makes music or a painter paints a picture....just natural to them. When fournette runs everything just looks natural....he has had me in awe since I saw him play in the 9th grade an he still keeps me on the edge of my seat. Love it. That being said....I really want les to go ahead an let LF7 break a lot of these records so we can get em out of the way and stop hearing about em. Yes I want him to break every RB record their is and leave his legacy as the greatest RB to ever play the game but it's almost Lebron-like the records they say fournette has broken lol every lebron game announcers say something crazy like "lebron now holds the record for most consecutive made free throws in the 2nd quarter of the all star game held since 1977". Lol I love breaking records but I love NC more....an I'm SO glad we have an unselfish RB that cares more about the team and winning then his individual accolades.

Yes! We need to let him take a break. The back end of the season will be very demanding on him. We also need to get these young backs some touches!

if Miles cared about getting LF records he would have let him get 6 more yards against Syracuse instead of kneeling to end the game
