Seems to be a hot topic this morning, during any time of the year (not just football season) are the majority of wedding you've been to in churches, or at other venues?

What are some other places you've been to a wedding?

I'm probably about 50/50. Raised Catholic in Houston, so a lot of weddings back in the day were at churches. In the last 10-12 years though, I've definitely been to way more weddings that were at other venues.

Breckenridge Riverwalk Center, Okoboji Inn at Lake Okoboji, Country Boy Mine way up high in Breckenridge, some museum in Dayton Ohio, a mansion here in Denver, someone's sprawling family property, Cabo Beach Resort, etc, etc. Each were really sweet and fun weddings.

Venue doesn't matter to me. As long as it's not on a Saturday during football season.

Wedding at friend of the families 1,400 acre plantation. Reception during LSU game which was played on TV's throughout the outdoor area. It was awesome.

I got married in my backyard in ky.

During football season but I didn't have a choice. Husband works 7 days a week year round including holidays, so his boss gave is 2 weekends to choose from. Lsu/uk home game and I don't remember which away game. Chose away game and everybody ended up in the house watching anyway.

probably less in churches now with people marrying out side "their religion" and also with every girl being a whore now, probably impossible for lots to have a white wedding in a church

As stated in other thread, I haven't been to a church wedding in awhile

probably because I live in north LA and most are baptists/non religious weddings

Other venues. Easier for the Ushers to go get drunk during the ceremony.

I don't care, as long as they're not in football season.

I'd say 70\30 of the ones I've been to have been in churches. The 30% mostly was composed of weddings between members of different faiths (christian/jew or catholic/protestant). The fun ones were protestant ceremonies in churches with catholic receptions. However, there was this one Jewish/Protestant destination wedding out in a field in West Virginia which had craft beer, fireworks, and a kickball tournament

I'm racking my brain, but I think I've only been to 1 non-church wedding.

All I am certain of is that beach weddings on American soil (sand) transcend trashy
