September 11th, 2001 - Forced Fallers.

I don't wanna call them Jumpers, although I'm sure some of them did "jump" because they felt they had no other option other than burn or suffocate to death...
But, what I never really thought about was the amount falling in the time period that they did... The last 6 days or so I've been watching and re-watching a lot of 9/11 movies and videos I hadn't yet seen, or wanted to see again along with reading a lot of wikis and sites.
I think what struck me most was ~200 falling victims in ~100 minutes... and that's if you include the full time from the time the north tower was struck to the time it fell (cause the south was both struck and fell within that time period).
So you are looking at 2 people falling to their death every minute over 100 minutes... technically much more than that per minute probably over a smaller amount of time.
That's crazy, I couldn't imagine being there and seeing something like that.

You need to go out in the sunshine tomorrow.

I can't imagine being in that situation.
Thanks for making me think about it.

I'm not sad or depressed, yes it's sad it happened. But it's history... Ignoring it doesn't make it go away. And I think it's important to remember what happened that day.

I'm just glad this isn't another conspiracy theorist thread.
The title had me fooled.

People were laying down stacked on top of each other - hanging out of the narrow windows - 1,200 feet above the ground.

At the base of the towers the firefighters set up the command post in the lobby and could hear people falling to their deaths and the loud crashing as they hit the roof. It inspired the firefighters but was very ominous knowing that every loud thud that echoed was another life lost.

Its something that you see in movies let alone in real life.
For the people that saw everything that happened live in person was forever changed after that day.

There was one September 11th documentary and it was home videos people took that day. One dude was filming the towers and said "it looks like pillows are falling out of the windows" and someone else said "I think that's people". Creeped me out.

A priest giving last rites to victims was killed when a jumper fell on top of him. That's fricked up

Let me just assure you how very wise that decision is. I don't even know if I can fall asleep now.

I read this thread right before going to sleep around midnight and have spent the past few hours on YouTube watching everything from 9/11 videos to Bush's speech declaring war, to FDR declaring war on Japan.. YouTube's a helluva drug

I saw a video the other day about the firefighters. They have a beeper that triggers a noise after couple moments of no movement. A couple minutes after the towers fell they went off simultaneously. One of the eeriest things I've seen.

Since that day, I wonder if anyone has hidden an emergency parachute somewhere in a high rise building just in case.
