The region you want is by S. Clinton and Fayette St. There's about 10/15 different bars in that area, Syracuse Suds, Kitty Hoyne's, Limerick Pub, Empire (my choice, not very many tv's but good beer), etc. Find one or bar hop and enjoy all of them
Saltine Warrior Pub downtown is a full fledged sports bar...kinda near Dinosaur BBQ.
Any of the Tully's around town are also good sports bars with excellent food.

I keep forgetting about Tully's, excellent choice for food. Those Tully tenders...

Great info so far, one more quick question. Would it be possible to park at Armory Square and catch a shuttle to/from the game? If no shuttle, how's the walk? Too far? Safe?

Sucks..hopefully they travel thursday night since its such an early kickoff.

This is from Mark's website
So I'd take that as a yes to the shuttle. It is a pretty far walk, also you have to go by the projects next to 81 if you walked that way.

The local bars and restaurants are running a free shuttle buses that leave from Walton Street in the heart of Armory Square. They start bus service 40 minutes before kickoff and go until 20 minutes before kickoff. After the game go back to the same spot you were dropped off at and take the bus back. IT IS FREE!

How is parking in Armory Square?
We are driving up from Philly that morning and would love to find a "home base" for before and after the game. Plus my wife has a bad back and I need to find someplace that we can shuttle to and from so she isn't walking up and down hills.
Any other suggestions on where to park and catch shuttles to the dome?

I know if you park at skytop or manley the shuttle picks up and drops off by life sciences, which is a bit of a hike to the dome if your wife has a bad back but at least it is flat across that part of campus. Over by the dome is where the steep hills are so you may be better off using that free shuttle service. I'm not sure where the shuttles from the downtown bars drop off at, maybe mark knows?

Thanks Cuse.
Looks like we'd walk through the quad to get to and from the shuttle.
Are the odds good at getting a parking spot near the field house on game day?
Anyone have any additional information on shuttles to and from any bars? I would love to park by one of the downtown bars and grab a bloody before the game and then lunch after...Provided we can catch a shuttle.

Yeah you would walk through the quad, it's probably one of the nicest views you'll have of campus besides looking up at crouse college (harry potter looking building) from marshall street. I have no idea what time you need to make sure you get there by for parking at manley, wish I could help more. Syracuse fans aren't known for getting out there super early like at LSU

I love this garbage holier than thou response. Since man first scratched out a hole in the dirt to bury the first seed, one of the staples of agriculture has been grain to make alcohol. Alcohol evolved alongside bread.
Later it was consumed by millions because water was unsanitary and unfit to drink.
For literally thousands of years leaders, thinkers, poets, and artists have enjoyed "altering" their mental states when at social events.
So spare us your bullshite pseudo-intellectual indignation and let those of us who enjoy having a drink before, during, and/or after a game live our lives the way we see fit.
