i can't imagine that would be cost effective. Your average backyard pond requires a shite ton of maintenance and you probably would need to do more for something that you are going to eat.

it would be cheaper in the long run to just buy some traps, buy a boat and set the traps out in the spillway.
Or just buy a sack or 2 when you want to boil them.

I've got one where we keep our cows. It didn't go to well...
I stocked it 2 years ago, and trapped twice this year just to see what was in there.
Sampling to see what was in there...

A couple of years ago, I'd have said yes, but Obama turned back the clock on a lot of wetlands legislative reform and people are once again not as free to use their own property as they wish.
