It was only 2 years ago we were throwing the ball all over the yard. Same coaches.

Perhaps Harris, Dural and DuPre are not Mett, OBJ and Landry?

At least not yet.

Of course I am sure some of you have watched game film, so you can tell more than the rest of us who watched on tv.

So we need to get qbs that were developed by other coaching staffs to be able to open it up?

Mett, obj, JL, and JH are all in the nfl and we only truly opened it up with mett his last year. All the blowouts in 2011 we refused to try to get him meaningful reps knowing he would be the guy in 2012. In 2012 we didn't open it up until the Bama game.

I understand what you are saying, but Harris was 65% passing last night. Why did we completely abandon the passing game when we needed it the most?

Harris threw the ball fine. The defense is going to be gassed every game if Miles doesn't evolve.

Hitting lightning in a bottle like that again isn't likely. All those guys plus Turner played and started in the NFL their first year. That "great" offense wasn't even better than the offense Bama put on the field last year. And we had some of the best offensive players college football has ever seen. And a qb developed by Richt.

Didn't you know the Rant is filled with D1 offensive and defensive coordinators?

I don't think anyone on here is claiming we should be a pass-first team or try to rely on BH as a Brees, Manning or Brady. We just want to see our O gameplan not announced in air-writing, on billboards and loudspeakers. The "we won with LF7" argument is really bullshite. Do we really want to rely on the opponents' kickers to miss easy field goals and receivers to drop gimme passes each week?

We're all happy we won, but those of us without Les's head up our anuses see that it was in spite of some bad coaching decisions.

I don't see anyone saying we need to totally change our philosophy. Just tweak it to unstack the box and adjust to the flow of the game.

Yet for some reason with Harris, Dupre and Dural we cant do this with Fournette taking all the pressure off them like Hill did for the formers?

We have an NFL caliber QB, and 2 WRs just like back then but the coaches somehow dont trust this QB. This is a major coaching issue. They need to get a balanced attack or the Alabama's of the world will just tee off on us once again.

I think the average Ranter cares less how LSU wins, provided that they do. Last night came needlessly close, as many saw it, to a loss. I do not care if CLM resurrects the triple option or the single wing so long as LSU plays in the SECCG in December.

Well LSU sure as hell didnt watch game film of Miss St.first game. SMU threw for over 300 yards that game. So what you are telling me is that Harris is no where as good as the Southern Miss quarterback. That our recievers cant get seperarion from the corners like SMU? Maybe our o-line can't pass block like SMU? 413 total yards of offense put up by SMU, LSU 337. Looks like SMU had a better game plan than our geniuses. Your moronic coach almost lost another one because of his love to sit on a lead. Its sickening watching these tight games that should never be close in the end. But hey we won right? Harris really got alot of reps passing against an SEC opponent right? The reps he got on the field will really help him with reading and reacting to future defenses. I mean handing the ball off that many times just builds so much confidence in a young qb and shows just how much you trust you have in him as a passer.

Yeah, so lets teach to spray the ball around only on third downs. Where he has the greatest chance to fail

Tell you what. You'll never find out if that's true or not with that game plan.
