I had just dropped kids off at school. Heard about crash on NPR, stopped at house to see it on TV. Was watching when 2nd plane hit. Went to work.

I was in a Louisiana history class at Nicholls when the first plane hit. Walking from class to the student union, I ran into a friend that told me a plane hit the World Trade Center in NYC. I thought he was talking about a Cessna-type plane. I walked into the student union to meet my friends and saw on the TV that it was no Cessna. I sat down at that table, and I don't think I left it until I went home that afternoon.

Driving to work when the first hit. Kind of laughed about it. I thought it was a cessna. Found out it was much larger. Boys wanted us to stay and work the day. I told him to frick off and went home. Arrived just in time to see the second plane hit.
Walows outside later and was amazed at the quiet.

7th grade Spanish Class. It's hard to look back and remember being more pissed initially that our football game that night against Jackson was cancelled
7th grade history class. I remember teachers purposely not turning on tvs with students around. They announced our game was cancelled and I was pissed because I didn't fully understand what happened. When I got home and saw the coverage I felt awful for my thoughts on the game being cancelled.
Live just outside of Chicago and see a lot of flights. Never will forget how silent the sky was those few days.

found out about it during the lunch break at work. A lot of guys were pissed off beyond belief.
i refused to believe until I saw it. I figured somebody had some misinformation about it and tried to move on the rest of the day.
when I got home I found out for sure and watched the coverage all night on TV in total disbelief.
thought a lot about the Firefighters and how brave they were/are.

I was at the Seascape in Destin for a company meeting. Our meeting started at 8am and we all watched the tv in the conference room stunned for several hours. Spent the afternoon getting shite faced drunk at the Whale's Tail wondering what the future was going to hold.

My best friend and I used to live in an old white apartment/house about three blocks from the campus. I was asleep (hung over from partying) when I heard the apartment screen door slam hard. I got out of bed and was about to say something about him slamming the door when I noticed he looked distraught. He told me the world was changing as I slept. Shocked, we turned on the TV to watch the second plane hit. That night we decided that we would curtail our long term goals and join the military for four years. We are both still employed with the DoD and have no regrets.

I was a freshman at LSU in my college algebra class. It ended at 9 and I went to the bookstore and fell asleep in a chair. I had political science at 12 and as I was walking to that class I heard people talking about something terrible that had happened but no one said what had actually happened. When I got to class the teacher came in and said in light of what happened this morning he was canceling class. I still didn't know what happened so I turned around and asked someone behind me who told me.

6th grade computer class.
We didn't go home early or get to watch the news. Didn't really understand what was happening until I got home and dad told me that we were attacked and we would be going to war.

I was in Shreveport working. My brother kept coming by to let me know what was going on. Saw lots of fighter jets flying around that day. Could not wait to get home to watch the news.

Came out of the PATH station at Exchange Place, just across the river from the WTC, just after the first plane hit. I was in my office in Jersey City when the second plane hit.

Sophomore year at LSU. I was jogging the LSU lakes and heard two chicks saying a plane accidentally crashed into the WTC. I drove back to Kirby Smith and saw my suite mate packing up his stuff. He looked at me and said "we're under attack. I'm joining the Navy." I've never spoken to him again.
