MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) — A Muslim flight attendant for ExpressJet says she was wrongly suspended from her job last month because she refused to serve alcohol to passengers, citing her religious beliefs.
Charee Stanley, a Detroit-based flight attendant for ExpressJet, filed a discrimination complaint Tuesday with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.

Well....she won't win this one. Unless she disclosed all of this ahead of time.
Also, how did she get hired without being aware of what gets served on flights? Was it her first day? Had she never flown before?
ETA: She was hired and then converted. If her religion burdens other employees, then she has no leverage IMO. She should simply be paid less because she can't perform all the duties required of her. I doubt there's a stewardess shortage.

I don't think she has much of a case. Serving drinks is the job and what she's asking for is not a reasonable accommodation.

Maybe I don't understand freedom of religion, but it doesn't seem like it would allow to keep a job whose duties your religion forbids you from doing. For example, if you are Hindu then a butcher can't be forced to pay you to stand around because your job is protected, and it's against your religion to slaughter cows. I mean, people see how absurd this is, right?
