Existing Inventory

(1) Douchetastic Clubs: Office, City Bar, Huey's (later at night), 600 Main
(2) Hole in the wall bars: Blues Room, Bald Eagle, Hounddogs
(3) Draft beer places: Happy's, Draft House
(4) 30 and up crowd places: River Lounge, Blend
(5) Live music places: B&T's, Roux House
(6) Restaurants, but you don't feel bad for just drinking and not ordering food: Tsunami, Jolie Pearl, IPO, Lucy's
(7) Restaurants where you'd feel some sort of internal pressure to order at least something: Stroube's, Azteca, Little Village, Capital City Grill

Needs

(1) Cajun/Seafood restaurant - some place that says we're in Southern LA
(2) Legit sports bar - TV's, food, beer, an NFL Sunday ticket type place that'll show every game
(3) Multi-room Irish pub w/beer garden - Happy's doesn't count
(4) 500-1000 more apartments
(5) A more formal repeal of open container laws, vs. the implied repeal that occurred some time ago
(6) A brew pub would be cool

Does this exist in BR at all?

Most big cities will have hookers walking the streets downtown. Can we really consider ourselves a large city without some ladies of the night offering their goods on third Street?

If Louisiana Lagniappe is still open, they're pretty good, but pricey

It gets dark in Parrain's. It's hard to see sometimes.

They were going to open up a smaller version of Walk-On's right next to Happy's, but the plans fell through. Walk-On's says they're committed to going into downtown.
I live in Spanish Town, and I can't wait for that to open. And I'm not a big fan of Walk-On's.

(4) 500-1000 more apartments

There are 200+ apartments on the horizon, between the 525 Lafayette building next to IBM, The Commerce Building on Third Street, and the Onyx Residences at Third and Convention. 525 Lafayette is supposed to open this month, Commerce in early 2016 and the Onyx probably in a year or so.

As far as needs are concerned:
1. Downtown has po'boy Lloyd's and Pastime. It could use a legit sit down cajun/creole reataurant, though like a Galatoire's, Louisiana Lagniappe, Beausoleil, or Ruffino's.

2. Pastime meets the criteria, but i agree that they could use something better.

3. Happy's should count, but i see your point.

4. In progress

5. Agreed, but it's really not enforced

6. Potentially in the works at the spot Lagniappe Records used to occupy.

Really? My butt is still very hurt over them packing up for Laffy. A pub as a replacement would really help to quell the pain.

There is Le Creole out on Petroleum drive. It's not in downtown, but you removed that qualifier.

I've been living here since they opened in January. I absolutely love it. I pay $998 for a one bedroom.
