Fact: She was elected to this office and began her term in the beginning of 2015. The rules changed AFTER she took her oath.
So does that mean elected officials do not have to follow new laws that get passed after they are elected?
I still believe if she was basing this on anything other Christianity, half the crowd supporting her would be against her.

She can't interfere if she's in jail.
Interesting that her son is a deputy clerk.

It's funny that some of the people that claim she should follow the law are the same that have no problem with millions of illegal immigrants that break law or sanctuary cities.

I believe she should follow the law and i don't think ilegal should get any rights in the USA..

I bet she has no problem issuing or stamping divorce judgements

So, don't do your government job's expected function and be put in jail. How is it that all those people working for immigration are not in jail since they are letting illegals in by the droves. And Obama picks what laws he will and will not uphold--no jail time. But glad we can hold this one Ky clerk's feet to the fire. Onward

what a depressing thread.
Yes, she should have resigned if she did not want to fulfill the obligations of her position, but
1. putting her in jail for not doing it
2. lynch mob cheering the judge for doing it
that's not what America is about (or I should say supposed to be about), you should all be ashamed of yourselves
Every day I think things can't get any worse, they do.

As bad as you hate it. She was in the wrong and she is getting what she deserves. This is an example of America working properly. The court ruled she defied the court and she's in jail. You should be happy about it

Good.
Good.
That woman was a lawbreaker and what she did was inappropriate, unethical, and illegal. She spit on the first amendment and the establishment clause and abused and wasted tax dollars fighting her bullshite and obstructed the civil rights of private citizens. Jail is the appropriate venue for her transgressions.

She refuses to resign.
Judge also called in her six clerks. Only one said no to issuing MLs to all. The judge called for her to return to court and said if Davis would agree not to interfere w/ the other five clerks signing the MLs, he would drop the contempt charge and free her.
She's still in jail tonight, so I guess Davis refused that compromise.
