Might be a good back up for Brees and eventual replacement if he can learn a thing or two about pocket presence. I still think the guy can play and do well in a non-dumpster fire situation.

I like where you are going with this. I mean he did declare himself the best QB in the league.

had we not drafted the grayson project, it would be an entertaining thought.

Grayson contract > RGIII contract

Grayson & RG4 performance in preseason > RGIII performance in preseason

No media circus > RGIII media circus

So what possible reason do we have for wanting to pick him up?

Well, if he goes on waivers, the Saints need to clear about 200,000 to just fit him under the cap. Then he can backup Drew Brees.

We'd have to hope he didn't get injured though because that would guarantee his 16+ million dollar salary for 2016 (guaranteed for injury)!!

So if RGIII clears waivers, he'd need to want to come here. And sit behind at least Drew Brees remaining tenure and possibly be Grayson's backup after that.

He's probably not coming here in any likely circumstance.

The Saints should not be firing weapons at anyone.

RG3 wouldn't fit Payton's style of offense. He's better off going to Philly, KC or NY/Buffalo

Some team will take a flyer on him. I hope it's not us, and I highly doubt it will be. It doesn't make sense for us

As a replacemnet? No...
As a backup over McCown just for this season? Sure...

Also, if we were located in any big market or didnt have a top qb, I would be 100% against this. Just dont think this will bring that much attention since we are in New Orleans.
