Who do you guys think has had the better season? Day or Spieth? Granted Speith did win 2 majors this year, I still think Day has had the better overall year. He's dialed in this second half and looks like hes gonna take the Fed Ex cup. Jordan did miss three cuts this year too.

That's really all that matters.

..and was within reach of winning all 4.

The decision to have them play early Saturday morning with the 50mph gusts cost him a stroke. ..and he missed the playoff by 1.

If Day wins another tourney and/or The fedex cup it'll be pretty close.

Still think Spieth wins it.

Whoever wins the last tournament of the Fedex Cup.

I wouldn't say all, but a Major is worth 2 wins at least. Day would have to win 2 more times to make it interesting.

Out of 25 events. He has been a model of consistency.

Day has missed 2 himself.

This will sound dumb, but hear me out.

Obviously major tournaments come with a lot more pressure, but these Fedex playoff tournaments are against just as good of a field (or better) on some very tough courses. These are big-time wins.

Spieth easily.
If Day's lone major was the Masters, and he ends up winning the FedEx Cup, then he'd have a better argument.

Major finishes:
Spieth 1/1/T4/2
Day T28/T9/T4/1

Spieth: 23 events, 5 wins, 15 top 10's(4 runner-ups)
Day: 18 events, 4 wins, 10 top 10's

It's not dumb. I just think that....
5 wins
2 Majors
3 Regular Events
Lowest Combined Score for All Majors
*Add in the Top 10s from Teddy's post
beats

5 wins
1 Major
2 Regular Events
2 Fed Ex Cup Wins
Fed Ex Cup Champion

Majors: Spieth 2 Day 1

Wins: Spieth 4 Day 4

2nd: Spieth 4 Day 0

3rd: Spieth 1 Day 1

Hard to say Day had a better year

Cuts Missed: Day 2 Spieth 3

Spieth Played in 5 more tournaments

I agree with you, while majors are really all that matters the Fed Ex cup has been exciting to watch. He ran away with that tourney on Sunday, and he looks to be playing great.

Spieth.

Day's success is more recent so it's easy to say him, but Spieth's run from early March through mid August was awesome.

Hasn't Spieth beaten like 96% of the field in the 4 majors combined? Yeah...that's a good year.

The answer is Spieth. However, the statement that Majors are all that really matter is dumb.

the fields aren't tougher ... big stars rarely play all 4 events ... I'd bet tiger/phil/etc never played all 4 ... the pressure during a major is as great as it gets all year, and spieth was 2-3 putts from winning all 4 ... day would have to win all 4 to even talk about it ...

It's not just winning 2 majors, he's 5 years younger than Day and won the two golf tournaments most PGA pros will spend their entire careers chasing in a single season.

Both have had great years.

Put it this way....
Would Day trade his year for Spieth's. Hell yes.
