"A guy that is a once-in-a-lifetime-type player and I think you are going to see that more and more from him as the season goes along. I've done this for 27 years, he's the best offensive player I've seen at LSU. The very best."

Can the season get here already?

Is he seeing this fall's practices? Because LF's freshman season, while nice, was nowhere near good enough to,deserve that kind of ridiculous hyperbole.

27 years? He forgot about Josh Reed?

It may be semantics, but he should have said, "I think he will becomes the best," or "has the potential to be the best."
His freshman year, while great, was not the best offensive season by even a RB in 27 years let alone an offensive player.
This kind of hyperbole does Fournette no good...

This backfield is just obnoxious. It's almost unfair.
The more I look at our position groups, the more I seem to be saying this.

Mike Detillier speaks in constant hyperbole on every Louisiana football topic. That being said, I hope he is correct.

So what we are hearing is to expect numbers like Marshall Faulk, right?

This dude is a walking, talking sports cliche. He's really LOVES to hear himself talk and is wrong way more than he is right. But oh man, when he is right about something he will go on every local radio show to tell everyone.

He's got the raw athletic ability to be, but he's not even the best RB at LSU in the last 27 years....yet.

I'll wait for this season to play out before I put him above Kevin Faulk

The way to read this is like this:
Leonard Fournette is the most hyped recruit I've seen come to LSU in the last 27 years, and he did have a good freshman season. The description of his physical skills (size, speed) do not seem to have been exaggerated. Thus, at this point, he now appears to be the real deal, and could possibly have a great career.
There's no real way to say he's better than, say, Jeremy Hill, Kevin Faulk, etc, just that he appears to be a better physical specimen.

Let's play the season out. Cecil Collins had a better "one" year that buga. hopefully things will fall into place that an LSU player can finally live to high expectations with 3 great years of results.

Mike D can really act like a parody of himself sometimes.
That statement is such a joke

Telling yall right now that we have the best running back 1, 2 punch in LSU history right now. Guice is a fricking animal.
