I dunno, most Trump voters would probably tell you that TR was a big (no pun) establishment RINO, Obama lover.

In what way? You know Roosevelt really was a badass, a warfighter, and a sportsman. He didn't just play one on television.

Yes, it appears that Donald and Teddy shared many of the same passions - such as exploration and big game hunting.

I only watched the first two episodes of the Roosevelts on PBS , so I don't know enough to be sure. But I don't think ole Teddy was as much of an attention whore as the Donald has been throughout his life. That's not a shot at his candidacy, just a fact. He likes him some face time on the television and doesn't care how he gets it sometimes.

Let's see:

Teddy Roosevelt:

Education - Harvard (graduated Phi Beta Kappa, magna cum laude)
Marriage/family - 1st wife died shortly after childbirth; married childhood friend and had 5 children
Politics - New York State Assembly; Governor of New York; Vice-President; President
Law Enforcement- Deputy Sheriff South Dakota; New York City Police Commissioner
Military - Asst. Secretary of the Navy; Formed First Cavalry Regiment (volunteers)

Trump:

Education - Penn
Marriage/Family - Divorced first wife (model) after 14 years (3 children); Re-married (woman he was having affair with during first marriage) divorced after 5 years (1 child); re-married (another model) (1 child)
Politics - Running for President currently
Law Enforcement - None
Military - None

Nope...I doesn't remind me of Teddy at all.

Mostly New Yorker bluster and attack back mentality

Also...

Whenever you are asked if you can do a job, tell 'em, 'Certainly I can!' Then get busy and find out how to do it.

To announce that there must be no criticism of the president, right or wrong - is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public.

It behooves every man to remember that the work of the critic is of altogether secondary importance, and that in the end, progress is accomplished by the man who does things.

ar better is it to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs, even though checkered by failure , than to take rank with those poor spires who neither enjoy much nor suffer much because they live in the gray twilight that knows not victory or defeat.

As a deputy sheriff, Roosevelt pursued three outlaws who had stolen his riverboat and escaped north up the Little Missouri. He captured them, but decided against a vigilante hanging; instead, he sent his foreman back by boat, and conveyed the thieves to Dickinson for trial. He assumed guard over them for forty hours without sleep, while reading Leo Tolstoy to keep himself awake. When he ran out of his own books, he read a dime store western that one of the thieves was carrying.[45] On another occasion, while searching for a group of relentless horse thieves, Roosevelt met Seth Bullock, the famous sheriff of Deadwood, South Dakota. The two would remain friends for life.

Also:
Developed the "Square Deal," a domestic program formed around three C's: conservation of natural resources, control of corporations, and consumer protection
Promoted the conservation movement and placed millions of acres of land under federal protection to preserve America's natural resources
Dissolved 44 monopolistic corporations and regulated railroad rates to protect the middle and working class
Passed the Meat Inspection Act and Pure Food and Drug Act to better regulate food production and labeling

Teddy was a fantasizing teenage boy in a man's body. He wanted to play war hero and cowboys & indians in real life. Don't see the connection here.
